What You'll Do

As a Senior Analyst – BCG Vantage on our Client Focus path within BCG's Travel, Cities and Infrastructure Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, delivering value to clients via individual expertise and/or institutionalized BCG Vantage assets (products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, domain-specific data and related expertise, etc.). You will contribute on cases and proposals by contributing relevant analysis and insights and help case teams create strong impact for the client. While contributing to client cases, workshops and proposals, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / develop solutions.

You will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector working, in conjunction with business leaders, through contributing analysis and insights to proposals, client workshops and marketing materials. Additionally, as a Senior Analyst – BCG Vantage, you will contribute to developing intellectual property & assets for the business and assist in onboarding and training junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.

Specifically, you will be part of the Travel, Transport Infrastructure and Leisure sector where you will support Transportation Infrastructure topics. The TTL - Transport Infrastructure team works with clients ranging from airports, ports and railways on a wide variety of topics including infrastructure development, operations, and funding. This role will focus on investment attraction, public private partnerships, project finance, financial structures and other components related to the pre-implementation phases of transportation Infrastructure development.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

  • Applying a financial and strategic lens to infrastructure challenges particularly around public-private partnerships (PPPs), project finance, foreign direct investment, commercial due diligence and investment models and attraction
  • Building and maintaining complex financial models across asset classes with an ability to translate into takeaways and digestible client materials
  • Understanding investor perspectives, with the ability to assess key considerations of institutional investors (e.g., BlackRock, Macquarie) and development finance institutions, particularly in emerging markets
  • Operating comfortably in a client-facing role, managing demanding internal and external clients in a time-limited and problem-solving environment
  • Solving client problems through formulating relevant research and/or analytical approaches related to transportation infrastructure
  • Communicating with case teams and clients team members, in a credible and confident way

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of consulting experience in relevant transport infrastructure and project finance or investment required; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred
  • In lieu of consulting experience, 3+ years minimum industry experience required; 4-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • Fluency in English; other languages requested in certain locations
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Experience in a top-tier advisory firm, infrastructure service provider, developer, bank, relevant government agency or other relevant sector experience
  • Experience in structuring and financing transactions and/or procurements and the commercial aspects of relevant project documents
  • Proven quantitative analytical capabilities and financial modelling experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable presenting to senior client personnel. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Prepare and present reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in project finance, preferably within the engineering, construction, or consulting sectors.
  • Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountant.(SOCPA) registration is required (or eligibility to obtain it).
  • Proven experience in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure projects and capital expenditure planning.
  • Regional experience in the Middle East (ME) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Our Project Finance and Infrastructure Advisory (PFIA) team advises clients on financial, procurement, strategic and public-private partnerships issues for large-scale infrastructure projects and programs. Join this team and you will help provide support to our clients from the earliest stages of analysis project evaluation to procurement, financial close, construction and operations. You will assist our clients in devising and comparing financial plans and delivery approaches for projects that involve public, federal or private financing; project revenues; and/or grants – and provide support to our clients in their implementation of those plans.

The opportunity
We're looking for a dynamic Infrastructure Advisory to join our PFIA team under Strategy and Transactions (SAT) group as part of our continued growth and success. As part of our PFIA team, you'll develop your commercial capabilities working with our global networks and fast-moving, emerging clients. Our diverse client portfolio will build your capabilities in pitching, briefing, managing relationships and challenging assumptions. Your Key Responsibilities
As part of the PFIA team you will be responsible for assisting clients in the development and implementation of strategies to advance large-scale infrastructure and other projects. Advise on the structuring and closing of financing for infrastructure projects and/or procurements, including the development, structuring, and negotiation of contract terms.

You will be required to demonstrate a deep understanding of capital project/program funding, financing and delivery mechanisms at the local, state, and national levels to support analysis of client projects and provide project and program management assistance to clients and project teams on large projects. Developing and mentoring junior team members will also be a key part of your role.

Skills And Attributes For Success
Individuals with a good Knowledge of public-private partnerships (PPP), concessions and acquisition and project financing structures will do well in this role. Project Financing knowledge, with an understanding of project financial modelling and financing markets, would be highly valued and the understanding of economic or social infrastructure procurement and delivery.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's/Masters degree with at least 1+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects with proven project management skills
  • Experience in feasibility studies and/or structuring project financing transactions and/or procurements and the commercial aspects of the associated documentation
  • Proven quantitative analytical capabilities; ability to build market-accepted financial models is preferred.
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills with the ability to solve unstructured problems.
  • Outstanding communication, writing and organizational skills
  • Intellectually curious with a strong desire to develop professionally in the infrastructure finance and policy sector.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience in a top-tier advisory/consultingfirm, infrastructure service provider, bank, relevant government agency or other relevant sector significant experience in a top-tier advisory firm, infrastructure service provider, bank, relevant government agency or other relevant sector
  • Professional qualifications such as CP3P, CFA, will be considered an advantage.
