OverviewWe are seeking a Project Finance Specialist to join the Capital Markets & Financing Department (CM&FD). CM&FD is a part of the Finance Business Line in Saudi Aramco and reports to the Treasurer’s organization. Its objectives are to provide expert financial advice to organizations developing new businesses or joint ventures; coordinate the Finance Organization’s overall involvement in such development activities and; obtain debt and equity capital for such new business ventures when appropriate.
Your role will be to provide expert analysis on the project financing and/or structured financing of potential joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions in the energy, chemicals, power and infrastructure business sectors.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Advise on bankability of project agreements and minimization of financing risk.
- Prepare business plans, financial forecasts, funding strategies and execution plans to support investment decisions and the optimal financing of projects.
- Coordinate the activities of investment banks, project advisors, project lenders and other project consultants in arranging the financing for projects.
- Provide professional and technical expertise for the analysis and solution of complex problems in any Treasury project finance area.
- Participate in and/or lead multi-disciplinary project evaluation and development teams assigned to grow and enhance current operations and profitability and to facilitate the successful implementation of the Company’s development strategies.
- Provide work direction to junior analysts and support personnel. Mentor and develop talent within the organization.
- Keep up-to-date of and analyze international, regional and local economic and banking data; identify trends that may impact the Company; advise management on potential opportunities and alert management of potential risks.
As a successful candidate you will hold the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Information Systems, Engineering or Business. An MBA or other advanced business degree is preferred.
- 7 years of related project finance and corporate finance work experience, preferably in a banking environment or a major refining, petrochemical or energy industry corporation.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with significant experience in Project & Structured Finance, Export Credit Agency Financing, Islamic Finance, the Debt Capital Markets, and the structuring of bankable commercial agreements.
- Significant exposure to joint venture development of mega-projects, EPC contracts, commercial & partnership Negotiations, financial modeling, economic evaluations, cash flow & variance analysis, project engineering and/or project management experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix organization and with multi-disciplinary project teams and consultants to effectively and efficiently deliver results.
- Experience in leading and managing teams and/or organizations.
- Negotiation experience with and comprehension of complex legal agreements and banking documents.

JOB PURPOSE:
To compile, maintain, and provide timely, relevant, and accurate financial performance and cost management data. This individual will prepare and update monthly reports, track performance against projections, work with projects and personnel department to understand cost impacts of manpower status changes, implement corrective action plans to improve cost performance, investigate data and operational inconsistencies, and prepare and analyze monthly financial and operational reports.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Take active part in preparation of monthly cost reports in close interaction with the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager, generating reports incorporating comments on status on variations/ claims/ receivables etc.
- Identify areas for implementing internal control and effective reporting.
- Identify and examine costs inconsistent with projected values; review unusual cost records and ensure accuracy of cost data.
- Review costs and perform cost benefit analysis related to projects.
- Assist in calculation of cost savings for budget and measurement of actual savings.
- Serve as backup to the Accounting Assistant in all G/L transaction posting, standard journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Act as a resource to Projects regarding all accounting issues, reporting, and analysis.
- Complete and interpret cost audits.
- Process and analyze engineering project costs, including tooling, samples, and accounts payable and receivables.
- Prepare engineering project cost analysis reports for presentation to top management.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Daily Contacts with Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, Project/Production Managers, Procurement, Planning, Personnel/ HR and project team members.
FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
Reports to Senior Accountant. Works according to established policies and professional standards. Completed work is subject to review by Senior Accountant and Finance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Minimum Qualifications:
1. 1.5 years professional experience in cost accounting, preferably in EPC turnkey projects environment.
2. Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
3. Experience with ERP software required (JD Edwards preferred). - Job-Specific Skills:
1. Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and good with numbers.
