Overview

We are seeking a Linear Programming Engineer to join the Central Planning & Modeling Division.

The division is responsible for optimizing crude allocation and the operations of global manufacturing facilities to maximize revenue, increase profitability, and explore international market opportunities. It also manages the LP gatekeeping for wholly owned refineries and the global MPIMS model, maintaining an integrated planning model for global crude allocation, market exploration, and integration options.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run rigorous simulations to identify deviations from actual conditions.
  • Operate the refinery model after SROP optimization to identify operational opportunities.
  • Define data and processes for maintaining and updating simulations.
  • Develop non-linear equations to reflect operational variables in PIMS AO model.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the hybrid LP model.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to ensure accurate simulation outputs and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Perform back-casting and report monthly on simulation gaps and mitigations.
  • Support stakeholders in creating models for new downstream projects.
  • Assist ASSAY experts in calibrating TBP and cut points to reflect actual column efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 9 years of experience in consulting or refinery industries, with expertise in rigorous simulation for refinery units.
  • Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS or PETROSIM, with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience developing simulations for hydrocracking, FCC, DHT, reforming units, and building complete refinery models.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, and calculations.
  • Experience with international business and cross-cultural practices.
  • Experience integrating simulation models with ASPEN PIMS.

Support the LP specialist & LP Engineer in developing the short-term and long-term plans:
a) Review of constraints

Carry out with LP specialist/engineers economics studies and reviews in case of new project, facility design change new grades, etc.to assure compatibility with existing facilities and identify any possible impact on existing operation, product quality and slateand verify the economic viability and provide recommendations to Petro Rabigh management.
7. Work Process Optimization
Review the department work instruction, procedures and internal control documents to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering

2.More than 10 years experience in a progressively responsible role in production planning in a similar industry.
3. Strong knowledge of Refinery and Petrochemical operation and economics.
4. Experience in using planning tools.

Canonical's Device Delivery Team works with tier-1 OEM and ODM customers to pre-load Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Core, bringing Ubuntu directly to millions of users.

As a Software Engineering Manager you will lead and manage the software engineering team to deliver OEM enablement projects. This fast-paced environment requires excellent time management, deep knowledge of the Linux system , low-level debugging, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and management ability.

Key responsibilities

  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and enable your team to succeed in delivering quality products
  • Set goals with the team; prioritize tasks, identify and measure team health indicators
  • Maximise the results of team members and support their career growth
  • Coordinate with project managers, HWE, QA and certification management
  • Monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem and handle escalations
  • Communicate, understand, and resolve the technical challenge with OEMs, ODMs, SiPs, IHVs
  • Prioritize customer requests globally
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams (including Desktop, Foundations, Kernel, and Security)
  • Provide leadership for methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices
  • Must be able to travel to the EU, USA, China, and Taiwan; (after covid-19 restrictions lift)

Required Skills And Experience

  • A Bachelor (or higher) degree in STEM, preferably computer science or software engineering
  • Proven track record in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Debian
  • Commitment to development and testing methodologies, and maintainable code quality
  • Experience with management responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation
  • Commitment and energy to deliver on schedule
  • Strong English and Chinese language communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Making technical decisions for a team as a tech lead
  • Software architecture and design experience
  • Software development or operations experience with: Ubuntu - kernel and userspace, deb/snap packaging, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, Containers, Python, Go, C, bash, Postgresql, Mongo, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, AI/ML
  • Participation in open-source development projects
  • Experience with CI/CD
