JOB OVERVIEW
Full responsibility for organizing, directing, and managing the production departments within the company to manufacture the defined product mix, meet quality standards, and achieve cost targets.
Reporting to: Technical Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maximize production and efficiency
- Oversee all day-to-day operations within Hot End, Cold End, Batch Plant, and Sizing departments
- Own all aspects of production management including Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Waste, and Cost
- Analyze and evaluate the quality and cost-effectiveness of production methods and techniques utilized and manpower allocation
- Recruit, develop, and challenge a highly motivated, technically competent, and loyal team that can deliver results and grow into additional responsibility and leadership in the organization
- Assure that training plans are in place and utilized for all departmental employees to assure the safe and proper production of materials
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and meet financial, quality, and safety goals
- Identify cost savings opportunities and investments to improve return on investment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 15-20 years of successful production experience with increasing management responsibility
- At least 5 years experience working in Glass Fiber Production and glass fiber manufacturing
- Sound overview of glass fiber business, end uses, applications, costing, and economics
- Knowledge of engineering aspects of glass fiber manufacturing
- University level Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering or Science
