Process Engineer
Job Brief:
We are looking to hire for a leading petrochemical manufacturing company specializing in n-paraffin and linear alkylbenzene (LAB) production that is committed to operational excellence and sustainable growth, we seek a talented Process Engineer to join a dynamic team in Saudi Arabia.
The client is into manufacturing petrochemicals for the last 2 decades .
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize plant processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality in n-paraffin and LAB production units.
- Analyze process data and troubleshoot operational issues, ensuring minimum downtime and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement process modifications and improvements to meet production targets.
- Prepare process documentation, reports, and operating manuals.
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, and project teams to support plant operations and modifications.
- Participate in process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
- Contribute to energy optimization initiatives and sustainability projects.
Required Qualification / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a petrochemical manufacturing plant, preferably in n-paraffin or LAB production.
- Strong understanding of chemical process design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Type of Employment: Permanent / Full time
Salary: Between SAR 9K to SAR 22K/month .

Overview
We are looking for Process Engineer to join Shedgum Gas Plant Department.
SHGP was brought on stream in 1981. The plant current processing capacity is 2.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of associated and non-associated gas. The plant products are NGL, Ethane, Sales Gas and Liquid Sulfur.
Your Primary role will be providing technical support to operating facilities, projects,technology deployment, and talent development of new process Engineer. And should have relevant documented experience in the gas processing field in one or more of the following specialties: Amine Sweetening, Sulfur Recovery, Dehydration, NGL recovery, Water Treatment, or Steam/Power .
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Handle process activities such as studies and design modifications in the operating facilities.
- Develop simulation models for assigned operation facilities.
- Develop, review and/or validate plant mass balances.
- Check plant performance to ensure it is running up to its design.
- Look for opportunities to optimize operations and implement them accordingly.
- Use the software simulation programs such as HYSYS and promax.
- Provide technical direction/support to in-Kingdom and out-of-Kingdom design contractors.
- Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Lead groups of engineers in the shutdown and start-up phase of existing plants.
- Participate in standards reviews to assure of requirements that are of practical benefit to field operation and maintenance in regard to safety and efficiency of the plant.
- Provide guidance on standards development through technical committee participation. Interprets standards and recommends changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements.
- Develop implementation plan for critical recommendations.
- Ensure implementation plan is executed for the system under study and propagated to other applicable systems.
- Lead Health, Safety and Environmental studies.
- Lead Energy Optimization / Conservation studies.
- Initiate process safety relief audit studies.
- Lead Water conservation studies.
- perform management of change (MOC) .
- verify system operations and performance after implementing the recommendations.
Minimum Requirements:
- As a successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering.
- You will have 10 years of experience in relevant gas processing operation facilities in Oil/Gas Industry.
- Knowledge and experience in software simulation programs such as HYSYS and promax and strong knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and aware about the processing codes and standards.
- Should have excellent experience and knowledge in design and modification, reviewing the standards and how to develop and evaluate studies.

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our dynamic team and to play a key role in the development and execution of process design activities for challenging projects! The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the responsibility of a Process Lead and the Head of Process Department, and after an initial period of integration, you will be in charge of:
Support the process design activities in all project phases starting from conceptual design up to the detailed engineering phase
Heat and Material Balance preparation and implementation
Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams development
Line sizing and pressure drop calculations of single phase/multiphase flow line
Process Sizing of main equipment and machines including: Compressors, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Separators, Tanks
Check of proposed/selected equipment compliance with process and operating requirements
Sizing of instrumentation
Cause & Effect Charts and Interlock Descriptions preparation and implementation
Involvement with Process Lead in HAZOP and SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessment meetings
Requirements:

Key Accountabilities- To provide process engineering support for Olefins Processeffective troubleshooting, unit performance assurance and optimization.
- Participate in performance monitoring & enhancement activities. Provide technical expertise for technology upgradation & innovation activities. Support complex sustainability and Process Safety enablers.
- Lead process inputs for de-bottlenecking projects & process/ process safety enhancements MOCs.
- Identify polymer plant specific process safety requirements and support OMS/SHEMS compliance from Process Engineering perspective.
- As team member assure quality technical and HAZOP studies, facility siting etc.
- Provide process support in defining Operating Procedures, effective operating envelope, troubleshooting, shutdown and start-up.
- Provide process engineering support for performance assurance and optimization as integral part of Plant Management Team
- Provide process support assuring seamless complex integration and coordinate efficient utilization of common resources.
- Provides technical support from process engineering perspective on instrumentation, control systems, automation, applications and process domain security.
- Participate in initiatives to apply advance control strategies.
- Track key process/asset performance indicators to monitor and capture opportunities.
- Provide process inputs for benchmarking studies, sustainability etc.
- Participate in targeted performance enhancement efforts, thru internal and external initiatives to meet upcoming business challenges.
Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or Equivalent with minimum 6 years of experience.
