The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the medical operations of the hospital, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and leading medical staff and committees.
- Recommend appointment of clinical department heads to the hospital director.
- Ensure consistent application of healthcare policies and relevant regulations across the medical staff.
- Comply with CBAHI standards and other applicable regulations.
- Supervise all medical committees and ensure adherence to their recommendations, including:
- Medical Executive Board
- Credentialing and Privileging Committee
- Mortality and Morbidity Committee
- Utilization Review Committee
- Blood Utilization Committee
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee
- Infection Prevention and Control Committee
Other responsibilities include analyzing audit results, supervising medical units, developing clinical metrics, recruiting staff, strategizing resource utilization, and evaluating clinical programs.
Qualifications & Experience- Graduate from a recognized Medical School
- Board certification in a primary specialty
- Current registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- Healthcare management or leadership training (highly preferred)
- At least 10 years of relevant clinical experience
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in healthcare
- Knowledge of Saudi healthcare regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively

**Duties**:
**Administrative**:
- Provides oversight of the medical services of the hospital to ensure an adequate and qualified medical staff for clinical service and coverage needs.
- Provides guidance to the interdisciplinary team (IDT)
- Serves as ex-officio Board of Director member; with responsibilities for professional assessment and monitoring of quality of care and services with the provision of regular reports to the Board.
- Utilises appropriate resources to maintain knowledge and skills for the clinic care in all settings including regulatory/reimbursement guidelines and integrates into clinical practice.
- Assists in the development and review of clinical protocols and emergency care procedures and patient care policies.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and programs; identifies opportunities for quality improvement in patient care and safety.
- Periodically reviews physician staff performance.
- Chairs the Clinical Governance Committee and Medical Credentialing & Privileging Committee.
- Participate in the Risk and Compliance Committee.
- Provides oversight and review of the physician visit coding to ensure accurate billing.
**Clinical**:
- Ensures that physician and/or midlevel practitioner staffing and processes are in place and sufficient.
- Reviews patient eligibility for clinic services; certifies patients meet medical criteria for admission and recertification based on available prognostic indicators.
- Assists the interdisciplinary team (IDT) in developing and implementing a plan of care that is coordinated with the attending physician.
- Provides coverage and support to staff for provision of medical services in the absence of the attending physician or after normal business hours.
- Renders the necessary medical management, in consultation with the lead / head and attending physician, consistent with the plan of care and the patient’s needs.
- Acts as a resource to staff, patients, family members, and attending physicians regarding pain and symptom control measures.
- Performs or arranges for designee to perform palliative care consult visits in facilities or patient homes as needed.

**Requirements**:
- To be a graduate from a recognised medical school with a valid medical degree.
- Work experience in relevant field of Medicine required.
- Carries a valid SCFHS license as a Consultant in their Specialty / Sub-specialty.
- To have at least 7 years’ post MD degree and a minimum of 3 years in administration.
- Arabic and English language skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to focus on accuracy and detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to facilitate appropriate direction and supervision to staff.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

- Mentor junior consultants and help build internal healthcare capability
- 7–10 years of relevant experience at a Big 4 consulting firm . with a focus on healthcare
- Strong background in strategy consulting, health policy, public health, or healthcare operations
- Demonstrated experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC healthcare landscape is highly preferred
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and deliver impact under complex regulatory and cultural environments
- Extensive experience with Strategy development, performance improvement, business modelling, change management etc.
