Job Description
We are looking for Petrochemicals Cost Lead Accountant to join our expansion team. You will be responsible for the Product Costing activities within the Finance team and will work in a green field implementation with the solution architect, lead product costing Accountant and cross functional teams across commercial, production and corporate functions in designing, build, test and deploy the financial aspects of petrochemicals business processes.
The role requires strong financial management skills and a working knowledge of product management frameworks and governance. The Petrochemicals Cost Lead Accountant will act as an expert on product costing and will represent on various product governance reviews with key stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:- Work in a green field environment group to design, build, test and deploy solutions related to product costing, profitability analysis and reporting.
- Support in an accurate and timely way the product costing activities which mainly involves, structuring Bill of Material, Routing, cost estimates, cost allocation structures etc.
- Perform recurring activities such as periodic costing runs, determine & maintain various costing objects such as rates, tariffs, duties, charges etc. as per product costing policy, perform variance analysis, handle error resolution (rule & non-rule based) & initiate corrective actions, calculate & monitor mark ups to support planning and forecasting activities etc.
- Support the Commercial department with Finished Goods costs reporting.
- Providing month-on-month variance analysis to the Commercial on changes to Finished Goods costs for forecasting purposes.
- Finance department focal point, for the annual planning/ budgeting product costing process with assistance from Commercial, Production and other departments.
- Active interaction with cross functions about product costing & related subjects.
- Supporting the Finance team with other tasks, when necessary.
- Ensure compliance of various policies related to product costing & adherence to company’s accounting policies & treatments.
- Perform financial impact analysis of costing activities, inventory revaluation, price difference analysis, advise on operational complex and judgement-based product costing activities
- Identify and signal recurring issues for further process improvement
- Drive standardization and quality in the true sense of COE & target efficiencies
- Support Senior Specialist/ Product costing team lead in liaising with various business stakeholders and support in adhoc product costing requirements
- Leverage these quality metrics to enhance product costing processes and ensure continual improvement over time.
- Accounting professional preferably cost accounting background with 5-7 years of experience mainly in handling costing activities for a manufacturing organization and capable of analyzing complex processes and issues
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with specialization in Cost Accounting
- Strong financial management and extensive product costing experience product management frameworks and governance
- SAP expertise especially CO-PC and CO-PA with an ability to handle Sales & Billing and basic knowledge of system issues & also support complex scenarios.
- Supervision Responsibilities in the area of Product Costing Analysis is required to work with diverse cross functional, global, and virtual teams and stakeholders.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Autonomous in organizing responsibilities and work.
