Role Purpose and Summary

  • The paralegal will support the legal team by maintaining, drafting documents, organising files, conducting legal research to ensure compliance with legal requirements and facilitate efficient legal reviews and case management. The paralegal will also liaise and coordinate all stakeholders, and stay informed about changes in laws and regulations to provide up-to-date support and assistance.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of working experience
  • Previous experience in an investment holding or infrastructure development company is preferred
  • Proficiency in legal research methodologies and databases
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent legal written and verbal communication abilities, in both English and Arabic
  • Familiarity with KSA legal procedures and terminology. Knowledge of other jurisdictions is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law or a related field

Key Responsibilities: Role Specific Technical Responsibilities

  • Assist legal team in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, and affidavits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts, government agencies, and other relevant entities, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Conduct legal research using various resources such as databases, libraries, and online sources to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Organise and maintain case files, including documents, correspondence, and evidence, to facilitate efficient case management and retrieval.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to schedule internal/partner meetings and court appearances.

**NATURE AND SCOPE**
The legal assistant will be responsible for providing legal and administrative support across the business, with a primary focus on Saudi Arabia.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
Provide core legal support to the VP Legal including:

- Preparation of internal and external documentation, including typing and amending a variety of legal contracts and agreements.
- Preparing presentations and reports, ensuring elegance, excellence and conformity with house-style.
- Creating and managing highly confidential files and records, including utilising a logical and intuitive matter-specific filing system and archiving of original legal documents.
- Scheduling meetings, arranging travel, processing invoices and expense reports, ordering supplies, handling printers, etc.
- Assisting with word processing support, such as converting documents, running compares, handling formatting issues.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree or legal secretary certificate.
- Ideally a minimum 4 years’ legal experience in private practice or in a “blue chip” corporate environment, but willing to consider graduates or students in their final year of studies requiring internships/coops experience.
- Arabic and English legal writing and communication skills.
- Advanced skills in MS Office: word, excel, Power Point.

Job Description

A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly-qualified and experienced Paralegal to join a market-leading global company based in Saudi Arabia. This lucrative position sits within their Project Development & Finance Practice area.

The primary focus on the role is to support the performance of legal activities within a specifically assigned functional area, and assist their assigned attorneys in the performance of their duties.

Applicants will have a good law degree from a leading University, and it is preferable that they have additional Paralegal Certification from a recognised National organisation. However, Arabic linguistic skills (although welcome) are not required for this role.

Applicants will have a vast wealth of relevant Paralegal experience (5+ years), gained within Private Practice or in-house, with a focus on transactional work with respect to M&A, venture capital and/or joint venture transactions. This experience does not necessarily need to have been attained in Saudi Arabia.

Specific knowledge of Project Development & Finance practice area is required, and experience in the oil and gas, refining, chemicals, power or other energy-related industries is a distinct advantage.
- It is imperative that applicants are willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia, and prior experience in the region is highly preferred.
