The Head of Functional Operations Planning will lead and coordinate operational planning activities across functional areas involved in the tournament delivery. Working within the Planning & Integration team, this role ensures operational readiness through detailed planning, alignment, and integrated service delivery across all stakeholders and departments.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the Functional Operational Director in developing the organization-wide planning process.
- Assist in developing functional area operational plans (FAOPs), policies, procedures, and related documents aligned with the overall tournament delivery strategy across sectors such as Legal, Shared Services, Commercial, and Operations.
- Collaborate with the Planning and Integration team to track the master tournament schedule, risk register, incident register, etc.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and planning meetings to ensure alignment and integration of all FAs.
- Ensure consistency in planning documentation, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor operational readiness milestones and support closing identified gaps.
- Support contingency planning and issue escalation processes.
- Plan the transition into tournament-time operations.
- Provide planning support during the tournament, including at integration centers or command structures.
- Be a member of the Main Operations Centre's central team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 8 years at mega international sports events.
- Skills: Proven track record in a similar role within Central Planning, PMO, or Integration departments. Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. Strong understanding of functional planning processes, integrated event delivery, cross-functional dependencies, risks, and service level development. Knowledge of operational readiness methodologies.
