Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide IT technical support to assigned department/personnel.
  2. Answer computer related problems from the users over the telephone.
  3. Respond to user questions via email.
  4. Create monthly metric charts of all the LAN/WAN and system problems.
  5. Maintain/support email servers, remote access servers, web servers, proxy servers, and file servers.

Job Specification

Qualification

Experience
The candidate shall have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience in carrying out the following activities:

  1. Planning, designing, configuring and testing of computer and networking hardware and software including operating systems.
  2. Planning, designing, configuring, managing, and testing of data network and security including the VPN connectivity.
  3. Providing tier 3 and 4 support to helpdesk.

Responsibilities

Gathers information concerning the capabilities of Company products; investigates the technical capabilities of Company products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensures requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the network and system development. Designs interfaces and brings network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.

  • Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Designs, creates, and builds network services, equipment and devices.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills And Experience

  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • Bachelors in Technical field
  • Five+ (5) years of Network Engineering experience with USN or comparable Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.
  • Two+ (2) years of experience with Network management tools (can be part of five+ (5) years USN/DoD experience).
  • Three+ (3) years of experience in network design and operations (can be part of five+ (5) years USN/DoD experience).
  • Certifications in CompTIA NetWork+, CompTIA Security+
  • Experience working OCONUS in security cooperation efforts or for foreign customers (i.e., not for US military bases or USG facilities).
  • PENDING CONTRACT AWARD***

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Three+ (3) years of experience as an engineer supporting C4I systems.
  • Three+ (3) years of experience with NAVWAR prime mission products.
  • Experience interacting with US and foreign senior military/government officials.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Engineering.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range: USD $90,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
