The Network Planning Engineer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive power system planning studies, including techno-economic analysis (perform cost-benefit analysis), and to ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the 400kV transmission network. Key responsibilities:
Power System Modeling and Analysis:
- Develop, run, and analyze power system models using software tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and PLEXOS.
- Conduct technical studies, including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, stability studies, and contingency analysis to evaluate the performance and reliability of the transmission network.
- Perform techno-economic analyses to identify optimal network expansion plans and integration of new projects.
- Experience in resource adequacy and generation planning.
Data Collection and Assessment:
- Collect, validate, and analyze power system data to support planning studies and network assessments.
- Evaluate existing network performance and identify potential areas for improvement or expansion.
Study Scoping and Methodology Development:
- Scope and define study objectives, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with the Network Planning Manager and other stakeholders.

Coordination with Consultants and Stakeholders:
- Coordinate with external consultants to manage specialized studies, including reviewing study proposals, overseeing study progress, and evaluating final deliverables.

Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive study reports, technical documentation, and presentations for management and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all planning activities, data analysis, and study outcomes to ensure transparency and accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiation:
- Engage with various stakeholders, including member states, to discuss network planning strategies, study results, and future development plans.
