Responsibilities
This position is a technical role to lead the delivery of network solutions, providing post-sales support for delivery, Solution Engineering services like Solution Design, Solution Acceptance, Remote Deployment support and Network Reconfiguration/Migration.
Will interface with the following functional groups on a day-to-day basis: Systems Engineers (SE), Service Project Managers (SPM), Technical Support, Field Service Engineers and Customer Service Advocate.
General Activities
- Support service partners engineers during project deployment
- Review the Technical Deployment Package details with both Internal and External Resources to ensure that they are understood by all members of the Deployment Team
- Serve as an escalation point for issues/problems related to the Technical Deployment Package contents. Work with the Pre-Sales, Customer, and Internal Ciena Groups to resolve any design or product related issues and translate resolutions to the field
- Responsible for archiving the As-Built Documentation Sets for future network upgrade support
Collaboration with stakeholders
- Participate in Customer kick-off calls and provide support to the Deployment Project Managers
- Provide technical guidance to the Presales Engineers to ensure that the Network Design meets both Customer and Serviceability requirements
Areas of impact (Basic theoretical and/or practical knowledge/expertise required)
- Layer 0/1 Ciena or other vendor product knowledge, and/or
- Layer 2-3 knowledge, and/or
- Scripting/DevOps skills (e.g., Python, JAVA, Ansible, etc.)
Experience
- B.S. Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field of discipline

The role holder shall be based in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and shall perform level 3 Technical support activities in support of the three regional centers (RCCs). - Deploy Kingdom-wide whenever instructed by Central Management to assist on major network incidents or projects.
- Carry out level 2 multi-skilled on-the-job training (OJT) whenever required, for managed services field technicians.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge & Experience)
- Preference given if educated to either:
- BSc/BEng with at least 3 years experience in multi-disciplined telecommunications environments or
- HND/HNC, with at least 5 years experience in multi-disciplined telecommunications environments or
