The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key mining client are working together to source an experienced and Long Term Mine Planning Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize long-term mine plans and schedules for open-pit or underground operations.
- Work closely with geologists, mine engineers, and operations teams to integrate geological data into mine designs.
- Conduct resource and reserve estimation, pit optimization, and mine sequencing studies.
- Analyze production scenarios, financial models, and risk assessments to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning activities related to mining operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all planning activities.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior planning engineers and other staff.
- Continuously review and implement best practices, software tools, and technologies for mine planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in mine planning, including long-term planning, scheduling, and resource modeling.
- Experience with mining software such as Surpac, Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mine design principles, production scheduling, and economic evaluation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
