Atkins Middle East is engaged with a major private client, based in Riyadh, working on KSA government projects. Part of this engagement consists of surveying a range of secure government communication assets and related facilities throughout the Kingdom.

The Building Services Engineer will form part of a 2 man survey team, working alongside a Lead Building Surveyor. The team will be project managed from Riyadh with the requirement to travel extensively throughout KSA to undertake condition assessments at over 100 government sites throughout the Kingdom.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with leading organisations within KSA and to form a key role in this exciting national programme.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering from a recognised University.
• Experience of a wide range of building types and engineering technology.
• Sound understanding of construction, design and engineering.
• Experience in the consistent application of assessment criteria across a wide and varied estate.
• Applicants must be familiar with relevant technical codes of practice.
• Applicants must be numerate, literate and familiar with IT and software appropriate to the tasks undertaken.
• Good report writing and communication skills.
• Evidence of working within a secure or restricted environment.
• English and Arabic speaking.

The role will be to provide specialist Building Services Engineering inputs to survey team in support of Lead.

• Implementing a visit programme established in consultation with the Project Manager.
• Sole responsibility for Building Services Engineering assessment.
• Preparation of robust and accurate reports in prescribed format.
• Following Atkins Project Quality Plan.
• Maintaining appropriate client contact and engagement on relevant key issues.
• Ensuring compliance with Business Management procedures and office systems.

1. Coordinate with the Engineering Subcontractor for drawings and deliverables.
2. Review drawings.
3. Prepare material purchase requisitions and evaluate vendor offers.
4. Prepare and review material submittals.
5. Follow up with vendors for delivery and technical clarifications.
6. Review and approve vendor drawings.
7. Assist the construction team to ensure smooth progress of work.
8. Supervise a team of Electrical Engineers and CADD operators.
9. Discuss drawings and systems with clients and obtain approval for drawings and materials.
10. Coordinate with vendors, construction, inspection, and materials groups for project progress.
11. Participate in client meetings as required.
12. Ensure completion of all work to meet contractual obligations and facilitate final handover.
13. Planning and estimating.
14. Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

• 12 to 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design for building services in projects up to 80,000m² .
• Preferably Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
