Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience to support the design and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to the preparation of design drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements.


Responsibilities:




  • Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.

  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and bill of quantities (BOQ).

  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

  • Support senior engineers in developing and reviewing project-specific solutions and design optimizations.

  • Ensure compliance with local and international codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, etc.).

  • Participate in design reviews, QA/QC checks, and client meetings when required.

  • Assist in responding to RFIs, technical queries, and site support during the construction phase.

Requirements:




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design for buildings or infrastructure projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and mechanical calculation software (e.g., HAP, Elite, or Carrier).

  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).

This position requires a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering school. The incumbent shall have a minimum of 8 years of experience in construction of Mechanical engineering works, of which 3 years shall have been in a project engineer or supervisory capacity. The experience shall have included involvement with and/or directly responsible for the design of significant projects covering a broad spectrum of Mechanical projects. Familiarity with U.S., European and Saudi Arabian Standards and Codes is required for this position.

Job Specification
  1. The incumbent shall serve as Mechanical Site Engineer. In this capacity, he shall work on a wide variety of Mechanical construction activities of the project assigned. He shall perform Mechanical engineering functions required at site and execute works as per design. He shall supervise and inspect the works in compliance with engineering standards.
  2. The incumbent shall implement safety and prevent loss of life & damage to Ministry property at the project site. He shall coordinate with other disciplines to achieve timings in phases of construction activity, meeting target deadlines, and to bring the project to successful completion.
  3. The incumbent shall participate in management reporting such as planned activity, actual activity, and work accomplishment in part and/or whole. He shall also make records of as-built drawings for future reference of end user.
  4. The incumbent shall ensure that all required installations, testing, and commissioning specified shall be in accordance with code, specifications, and equipment manufacturer’s installation guidelines. He shall witness the required testing and commissioning works performed.
  5. The incumbent shall check, record, and inform his Resident Engineer and/or Head of Branch regarding deviations of materials or installation over approved documents. He shall take immediate actions if found that such activities being performed do not conform to the approved documents.
  6. The incumbent shall be thoroughly familiar with all local & international codes in set-up and installations of various systems which include but are not limited to HVAC, plumbing system, irrigation systems, water treatment & sewage treatment plant, lift elevators, laundry machines, kitchen equipment, fire protection system, generators, and medical gas plant equipment & distribution system.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, specializing in building services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the design and implementation of mechanical systems for a variety of building projects, such as commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This role involves designing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building-specific mechanical systems, ensuring they meet all performance, efficiency, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, and other essential systems.
  • Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings, calculations, and specifications to meet client requirements and applicable building codes and standards.
  • Perform system sizing, load calculations, and energy modeling to optimize the performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines (architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers) to ensure that mechanical systems are integrated into the overall building design seamlessly.
  • Conduct site visits to assess building conditions, verify measurements, and ensure designs are feasible based on existing or proposed conditions.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to clarify design requirements, provide technical support, and ensure the smooth progression of the project.
  • Ensure that all mechanical designs and systems adhere to local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design software, industry practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the best possible solutions.
  • Perform design reviews and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.
  • Integrate energy-efficient systems and sustainable technologies, such as renewable energy systems, into designs to meet environmental and energy goals.
  • Assist in achieving building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) by designing energy-efficient and environmentally responsible systems.
  • Provide technical support to construction teams during installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Address any design issues that arise during the construction phase and suggest solutions to ensure the systems are installed according to specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and performance testing to ensure systems operate as designed.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, system specifications, and calculations.
  • Prepare and present reports for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a focus on building services or HVAC design.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and their integration into overall building designs.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE), and regulations related to mechanical systems.
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, or industrial projects is required.
  • Familiarity with sustainable building design practices, energy efficiency measures, and green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM) is a plus.
  • Desired Skills :

  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) for mechanical system design.
  • Knowledge of energy modeling and simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with commissioning and testing procedures for mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
