Tecnimont and Tecnimont Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts related to a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of Saudi Aramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The overall value of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relate to the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “Derivatives Units” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefin extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selective hydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene & toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and the relevant product logistic facilities.
The project’s scope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, and shall have a duration of approximately 4 years.
- The Construction Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of Mechanical Construction for Rotating Equipment activities through the Construction Rotating Equipment Supervisors (PIS)
Duties and responsibilities
- He has direct responsibility on management of Mechanical Subcontractor(s) for Rotating Equipment.
- He will ensure that their performances are carefully monitored in terms of schedule, quality and cost, and he will coordinate all necessary recovery actions whenever detect deviation from schedule or specifications under the guidance of Construction manager.
- He ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities.
- He directly participates to the HSE activities at site as defined for his position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- A university Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience
- Relevant experience in construction/modernization of oil & gas /industrial sector/ EPC projects large refinery plants.
