**Job Purpose**:
Performs engineering analysis, development, design, coordinate and control of assigned projects within any one
of the recognized engineering fields. Job requires that incumbents have training, knowledge and ability in his

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will design, supervise, test, and apply methods and solutions for complex electrical engineering scenarios, ensuring efficiency and compliance with engineering standards and codes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Function as Discipline Project Engineer, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
Design, plan, direct, and supervise work within a program of projects involving large-scale expenditure of manpower and finance.
Lead Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and achievement of KPIs, driving growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes, regulations, and contract requirements.
Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data; witness shop tests; assist in assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
Develop operation and maintenance plans; standard operating procedures; O&M manuals; and conduct on-site training of personnel.
Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations.
Perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.
Review quality assurance and quality control programs, inspection and test plans, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures for electrical equipment and cable work.
Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current and developing technologies.
Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Assist with other administrative and technical duties.
Recommend and prepare technical papers.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Supervision Given: CAD Drafter/Designers, Designers, Lower-level Engineers
Internal Contacts: All employees on project
External Contacts: Suppliers, Clients, 3rd Party Utility Providers, Governmental Entities, Permitting Bodies
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized/accredited university.
10+ years of related electrical design work experience.
Professional Engineer registration required.
Ability to lead others and work both independently and within a team.
Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
Thorough knowledge of current and developing technologies, with ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project use.
Proficiency in:
Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems
Electrical power distribution systems
Building electrical power distribution systems and equipment for power plants, substations
Electrical calculations and electrical theory
Load flow calculations, relay and protection coordination
Pad mounted transformers and switches (or unit substations and RMUs)
Lighting systems (exterior and interior)
Cabling
Coordination with other utilities and disciplines
Strong knowledge of building electrical codes, construction methodology and requirements (NESC, NEC, IEC, IEEE, or other related standards).
