Overview
We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Planner to join Southern Area Power Operations Department.
The Southern Area Power Operations Department is responsible to deliver electrical energy to customers in the safest, most reliable and economical manner through a competent workforce committed to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Your primary role is to plan, estimate and schedule maintenance work in an Industrial Maintenance Division and assists the senior Maintenance Planner in planning, estimating and scheduling more job. Utilizes corporate maintenance computer programs and databases such as SAP to provide information in a timely efficient manner. Coordinates stepped work within the same organization (Different Work Centers). Analyze and prepare organization daily/weekly schedules.
Key Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
• Processes work orders. Visits job site when necessary. Utilizes knowledge of craft skills and knowledge of the equipment involved, and places job steps in the proper sequence.
• Identifies all materials, tools, equipment, and special preparations required for each job step.
• Provides the foremen with a completed package at minimum cost. Ensures that materials are received prior to scheduling the job. Ensures that surplus and excess materials are returned to the proper materials handling personnel for eventual return to the Storehouse.
• Arranges for and schedules support service equipment, to coincide with the maintenance order scheduling. Provides maintenance performance monitoring data for his assigned area or unit. Prepares Whole Job Standards and reviews the log of existing Whole Job Standards for potential application.
• Participates in the Weekly/Schedule Coordination Meeting and presents the Weekly Schedule of workable maintenance jobs from the backlog. Ensures which jobs will be worked in the upcoming week.
• Prepares daily schedules from the approved Weekly Schedule. Coordinates daily schedules with Maintenance Foremen, Supervisor and Operations Foremen and ensures that a complete planning package is attached to the work order. Checks, received materials and issue to craftsmen.
• Request crane/trailer and ensures contracts readiness or other resources required on the daily scheduled jobs. Lists, edits and checks all issued maintenance tickets and plans/schedules work.
• Plans major jobs with the assistance of senior planner and develop critical path charts if required. Updates maintenance order statuses. Generates Plant Maintenance reports. Provides maintenance performance monitoring data for his assigned area.
Minimum Requirements
- As the successful candidate you will must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Bachelors’ preferred.
- You should have a minimum of 8 years’ Special Field experience in at least one craft or in maintenance planning.
- Fluent command on English language both written and verbal.

You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards.
Specifically, a Chief Engineer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards
Lead the Engineering Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules
Communicate with Housekeeping to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities for Guest rooms and public areas
Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and property
Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
Prepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for Engineering
Perform daily checks around the hotel
Conduct lift emergency release procedures as required
Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise
Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs
Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses
Coordinate renovation bidding, define the cost and scope of the project, and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost effectively
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment
Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives
Manage all Team Member related activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters, and team motivation

The Opportunity
The Maintenance Manager manages all maintenance activities for service level agreements in dedicated airports.
You will make an impact by….
- Directs the maintenance and operational performance of the AGL and A-VDGS infrastructure of the airport to ensure compliance with the contract specifications and to meet ICAO standards
- Represents ADBSG in regular review meetings with the client and establishes effective working relationships with key personnel
- Communicates the key elements of the contract (deliverables, measures and penalties) to the AGL Maintenance team and ensures that appropriate checks, supervision, reports and controls are implemented
- Ensures that the ADBSG maintenance team has the required spare parts stock and anticipates future requirements
- Identifies the providers and arranges special testing schedules for the AGL and A-VDGS infrastructure at the airport, Thermal Imaging tests and the Annual AGL Audit
- Supervises the delivery of ‘custodial services’ (cleaning and maintenance of buildings and surrounding areas)
- Procedures and documentation
- Establishes and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for all maintenance activities.
- Ensures appropriate document management procedures are implemented to fulfill the contract requirement.
- Defines and monitors the Quality Control Plan, including undertaking routine audits.
- Defines and monitors the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) procedures and plan, including undertaking risk assessments and reviews.
- Liaises and coordinates with interface groups to achieve goals and objectives
- The client and associated bodies.
- Manages the resources of the ADBSG maintenance team, including establishing appropriate salary levels, setting the standards of team performance and behaviour, identifying and rewarding high performance, proactively managing poor performance issues.
- Motivates key personnel within the ADBSG maintenance team and ensures that there is a healthy team spirit and team members show respect for all cultures, religion, nationality and other personal/social considerations
- Plans, advises and recommends on personnel training and development to ensure the maintenance function is staffed with individuals of the required skills and competencies.
- Ensures that there are adequate succession planning and provision of skills and people to meet future demands.
- Develops the KPIs and performance objectives for all roles within the ADBSG maintenance team, ensuring a close connection to the performance measures and penalties within the contract.
- Ensures that a Safe working culture is firmly embedded within the ADBSG Maintenance team and delivers continued safety improvements.
- Reporting & Performance
- Presents regular Contract Management reports to the client and fulfills the documentation and reporting requirements contained in the contract schedules
- Presents regular Management reports to ADBSG, including budgets, forecasts and risk assessments
- Develops internal Key Performance Indicators to ensure an effective performance of maintenance functions.
- Identifies opportunities for performance improvement.
