OverviewWe are seeking a Maintenance Engineering Specialist with various industry maintenance programs to join Asset Maintenance Solution Department (AMSD) under Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME).
AMSD provides specialized and timely maintenance engineering support to wholly-owned and affiliates’ refining and chemicals operating facilities, collectively known as Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing.
The primary role is to provide technical expertise pertaining to the development, launching, and assessing of various maintenance programs, processes, procedures and best practices for Global Manufacturing facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Develop maintenance processes, maintenance management strategy, work and performance management strategy and conduct Maintenance health assessment in line with GME and corporate requirements. This includes PM and PdM strategies, Org. structures, manpower analysis, cost analysis, etc., and appraise and prepare reports on the effectiveness of such processes.
- Conduct data driven analyses to benchmark maintenance organization’s performance to identify gaps then set sustainable plan to close the gaps, this includes, but not limited to: Spending Analysis, Maintenance Effectiveness, operating costs of existing assets, PM, and PdM, Wrench time analysis, SAP Taxonomy, Planning & Scheduling, Personnel Competency, Budgeting Strategy, Bad Actors, and RAM Modeling.
- Analyze facilities’ maintenance performance to establish reference baseline & Issue frequent maintenance benchmarking reports to promote knowledge.
- Review maintenance reporting mechanism and KPIs along with their trends to drive performance and provide recommendations accordingly.
- Analyze maintenance spending in terms of manpower, equipment, materials procurement and outsource strategies.
- Assist the line maintenance organizations in the implementation of approved programs such as TPRM or GM reliability model.
- Develop methods and programs for handling new situations in maintenance fields. This will include prototype pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, valves, instrument systems and computer systems.
- Design, in conjunction with engineering personnel and vendor representatives, alternative parts or systems.
- Represent AMSD on standing Committees, Special Task Groups or Ad Hoc Committees.
- Recommend work which can be economically assigned to contractor organizations and develops scope of work.
- Report to concerned Maintenance Supervisor & Manager on quality and quantity of workmanship and adherence to standards within his assigned areas and recommends improved work methods.
- Ensure that periodic maintenance is performed in accordance with vendor recommendations and Aramco procedures and that maintenance logs and records are maintained.
- Prepare Engineering Reports on maintenance activities/methods and means for their improvement.
As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program. A Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred.
- 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas downstream Sector.
- Able to demonstrate high degree of technical competence in the area of maintenance programs and practices.
- Experience with risk-based processes such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance & Risk Based Maintenance.
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spare Parts and Materials procurement strategies.
- You will have Best-in-class Maintenance Planning, Scheduling and Work Prioritization experience.
- Experience with Maintenance budgeting and spending control methodologies.
- Experience in field maintenance methodologies, processes, and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP.
- Conversant with MS Office applications.
- Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate fluency in spoken and written English.

The RME supervisor will have a significant impact on customer experience. He/She will have the ability to lead and manage external contractors, be on call for emergencies, to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tough time lines. The RME supervisor will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals.
The RME supervisor role is shift-based in the fulfillment center. The RME supervisor will be responsible for the leadership, development and coaching of the team. Performance Management will be carried out by the RME supervisor – Maintenance. This role also leads the technical team in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Fulfillment Center (FC). The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Key job responsibilities- Lead, support and mentor the team, ensuring they are working in a safe, standard and efficient manner.
- Have subject matter expertise for critical MHE and Original Equipment Manufacturer assets, and be able to build knowledge on at the introduction of new assets into the network
- Handle basic troubleshooting for base building systems (FA/FF - Electrical distribution -HVAC-BMS- Plumbing )
- Work with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutions.
- RME supervisor is the shift-based job responsible for handling breakdowns, incidents; stakeholder conflicts
- Support Reliability and Sr. Reliability manager with the management of budget, critical spare components, purchase orders, and change orders that are needed to complete capital projects related to critical equipment assets.
- Keep the APM (Asset performance management) metrics achieved and raise the bar on all performance and compliance KPIs
- Support the Reliability Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
- Complete critical equipment audits and site health assessments in accordance with corporate standards and procedures
- Develop maintenance standards, documentation, and practices for critical assets.
- Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
- Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts they own by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
- Organize local projects or support MENA level projects as assigned by the manager.
- Demonstrate practical engineering experience including a supervisory role managing people.
- Have experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
- Have experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement vendor annual maintenance contracts AMCs with appropriate service levels for equipment.
- Manage a team of Maintenance Supervisors & Technicians. Define goals, priorities, organize staff planning, staff training to ensure service levels.
- Keep people working in a safe environment, applying the Amazon Safety Policy and working with the Safety team to improve safety on site.
- Ensure that workplace/assets are clean and in 5S
- Daily Monitor and respond to RME customers requests through trouble ticketing system and always show customer obsession behavior.
- Ensure quality service received by annual maintenance contract vendor and verify that through raising any fail against the SLA (service level agreement).
- Supervise IFM contractor for refurbishment and upgrade works for building finishes, fixtures, fittings and equipment, fixed furniture and OPS equipment like Trolley, Cages, Carts
- Follow up MHE (conveyors) performance & OEE through SCADA system and manage technicians to reduce MHE downtime
- Perform 2 GEMBA walks per shift according to schedule to ensure site & equipment readiness
The Site RME team is managing the whole Building engineering and facilities related day to day issues and projects as well, including Technical services (Base Building, MHE material handling equipment, Planning and Automation) and soft services
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or automation engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of using a computer maintenance management system in planning, scheduling and auditing overall facilities/maintenance activities experience
- 3+ years of data analysis in the facilities maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization experience
- 3+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Knowledge of diverse MHS, industrial mechanical and electrical systems and automation, controls and robotics systems
- Basic experience using project management software, Microsoft Office, asset management software and CAD software (AutoCAD)
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written local language and basic proficiency in English
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 3+ years of maintenance planner/scheduler working within an industrial maintenance complex, manufacturing/distribution industries, or equivalent experience
- Experience in material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
