2. Position Objective

Ensure the stable operation of production equipment by carrying out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repair. Support continuous improvement of equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.

3. Key Responsibilities

3.1 Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of production machines, utilities, and facility equipment.
  • Ensure machines are operating in good condition to avoid unplanned breakdowns.

3.2 Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic faults and carry out corrective actions.
  • Replace worn-out parts, lubricate equipment, and adjust machine settings when necessary.

3.3 Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) regulations during maintenance work.
  • Ensure use of correct tools, PPE, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Support compliance with Saudi labor and safety regulations.

3.4 Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
  • Report major failures, spare parts consumption, and suggest improvements.

3.5 Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Kaizen activities.
  • Provide technical support for equipment upgrades and modifications.

4. Requirements

4.1 Education

  • Diploma or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

4.2 Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing industry (steel, solar, plastic, or similar).
  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair.

4.3 Skills

  • Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC, automation, or CNC systems is an advantage.

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Engine Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, operating, maintaining and repairing engine and fuel systems, and components on the Hawk aircraft and support equipment. They will maintain aircraft to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They will also be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnosing faults and administrative support to the AMO as directed by the Engine Supervisor; including but not limited to complying with all relevant company policies. They ensure the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, its components and resource SQEP levels. They are responsible for on‑the‑job training of any assigned trainee.

Planning / Organising

They provide support to the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) to ensure delivery of serviceable aircraft to TAGF in order to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments.

They shall be responsible for themselves and their peers, including training technicians and maintaining a strong safety culture whilst fault finding, repairing and delivering serviceable assets to maintain the customers daily flying programme.

They provide accurate and up‑to‑date information to their Line Managers to ensure the ETIC schedule is achieved, ensuring solutions to any arising issues are identified and rectified during maintenance activities.

The service and repair of components into the supply channel, and ensuring their area upholds efficient and effective supply discipline.

Ensuring the procedural compliance governing Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration cycles, Support Equipment maintenance cycles, and the Tool Control system is kept current in their work area.

Report Preparation

Any reports as directed including training reports carried out in accordance with the policy.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training or substantial proven experience on same aircraft type or successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.

Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.

Broad Aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.

An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.

MAIN TASKS:
