Reimagine What’s Possible PurposeTo provide knowledge and experience on process Rotating Machinery to facilitate successful commissioning of the IGCC machinery assets. They will function as part of the IGCC commissioning team to bring equipment online safely and consistently, supporting the overall IGCC project in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
ScopeThe IGCC rotating machinery scope includes high-value equipment from major oil & gas OEMs, such as:
- Process hydrocarbon pumps (centrifugal & reciprocating)
- Large vertical seawater pumps for plant cooling
- Centrifugal fans & blowers
- In-line multi-stage centrifugal process compressors, with advanced protection systems for surge control and mechanical health
- Combined-cycle power generation equipment
- Mechanical handling equipment for solid by-products
As a senior-level machinery engineer, you will have experience in areas such as rotor dynamics, vibration diagnostics, high-speed balancing, torsional vibration, machine performance analysis, and machinery process control logic. You will also lead and coordinate compressor surge-testing activities and troubleshoot machine problems with instrumentation.
Role AccountabilitiesThe Jazan IGCC Senior Machinery Engineer is responsible for owning the successful commissioning of assigned equipment and working with the team to deliver tested and operational machinery systems. They may also guide less experienced machinery engineers.
Role Responsibilities- Lead safety initiatives during construction, commissioning, and start-up stabilization.
- Plan and prepare machinery systems for first-time start-up.
- Contribute to creating commissioning procedures for assigned equipment.
- Understand pre-commissioning requirements and communicate effectively with technicians.
- Identify situations requiring additional commissioning activities.
- Lead commissioning tests, including performance measurement and surge testing.
- Coordinate with controls & process engineers to verify machine control and protective functions.
- Collaborate with OEM representatives to meet project schedules and requirements.
- Evaluate equipment specifications, datasheets, and vendor proposals for compliance.
- Participate in vendor selection and review design documents.
- Support procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Perform performance testing and troubleshooting.
- Develop maintenance strategies for long-term reliability.
- Stay updated with industry standards and best practices.
Engineering graduate (B.E. preferred) with over 12 years of experience in process machinery within petrochemical, power, or industrial gas facilities. Strong safety awareness, especially during energization and commissioning. Excellent communication skills, adaptability to different equipment suppliers, and knowledge of API standards relevant to the equipment. Experience in front-end loading engineering projects and familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ANSI, ASME, Saudi Aramco) are required.

Purpose
To provide knowledge and experience on process Rotating Machinery to facilitate successful commissioning of the IGCC machinery-assets. Scope
The IGCC rotating-machinery scope includes a wide array of high-value equipment from major oil & gas OEM’s including, process hydrocarbon pumps (centrifugal & reciprocating). In-line multi-stage centrifugal process compressors, in split-case and barrel designs, with advanced protection systems for surge control and mechanical health. Combined-cycle power generation facility. Mechanical handling equipment for solid by-products.
As a senior-level machinery engineer, you will have experience of more complex areas such as :
- Rotor-dynamics and vibration-diagnostics
- Rotor high-speed balancing
- Torsional vibration
- Machine performance analysis & turn-down limitations
- Machinery process control logic
- Leading & coordinating compressor surge-testing activities.
- Trouble-shooting machine problems on the run, with available instrumentation.
Role Accountabilities
The Jazan IGCC Senior Machinery Engineer is accountable for taking ownership of the successful commissioning of the equipment assigned to them, and to work as part of the commissioning team to deliver tested and functional machinery systems to the facility operations. They may also have some oversight responsibility for providing guidance to other less experienced machinery engineers.
Role Responsibilities
- Integral part of a dynamic team that sets the example for being leaders in safety during the construction, commissioning, and start-up stabilization period bringing new assets on-line.
- Part of a machinery engineering team to plan and prepare machinery systems for first-time start-up.
- Where required, contribute to the creation of commissioning procedures specific to the equipment you are assigned to.
- Have a thorough understanding of basic pre-commissioning requirements, such as lube-flushing, alignment, nozzle loads, instrument checks, and be able to communicate your requirements to field technicians.
- Identify situations where more thorough commissioning activities may be required due to the design and criticality of the equipment.
- Lead & execute specific commissioning test activities, such as performance measurement and surge testing.
- Work alongside other discipline engineers (such as controls & process) to complete joint tasks such as verifying machine control systems & protective functions are thoroughly tested, and that the performance of the machine matches that of the process requirement.
- Work cooperatively with machinery OEM representatives to ensure their experience and requirements are considered, while also fulfilling the schedule needs of the IGCC project.
- Evaluate equipment specifications, datasheets, and vendor proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform technical bid evaluations and participate in vendor selection for rotating equipment.
- Develop and review equipment design documents, including P&IDs, equipment layouts, and mechanical datasheets.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of rotating equipment into overall project design.
- Provide technical support during equipment procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of rotating equipment to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency.
- Develop maintenance strategies and procedures for rotating equipment to ensure long-term reliability and operational integrity.
- Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and best practices related to rotating equipment design, operation, and maintenance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Engineering graduate (B.E. preferred) with >12 years’ experience with process machinery, gained in Engineering, operations, and commissioning of petrochemical, power plant or industrial process gas facilities. Strong safety awareness, in particular concerning systems being energized for the first-time during commissioning. Strong communication skills, to enable effective interaction with the rest of the operation, maintenance, and commissioning team. Adaptability to migrate between equipment from many different suppliers. Working knowledge of API standards relevant for the equipment being commissioned, such as API pump seal plans. Time management abilities - ability to multi-task with several machinery items in a commissioning state in parallel. Experience in Front end Loading engineering project development. Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to Oil and Gas and Refining Industries (API, ANSI, ASME, etc.) and preferably also Saudi Aramco standards and working practices.
