My career has been made special while working here at UH Seidman Cancer Center. As this was my first start out of college for being a Radiation Therapist. Two things that come to mind with this question are the ability to advance myself within this department and the advantage of using tuition reimbursement. During the last 10 years of my career at UH I was able to learn special procedures, which is where I am. Become the lead therapist at a new satellite office, finish my master's degree and become an advanced lead Radiation Therapist here in special procedures. I came back to main campus, something else that comes to mind are the people! I've learned from everyone around me, patients and staff. Description

A Brief Overview

The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) completes patient care activities and provides clerical support as delegated by the RN. PCNAs perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable). Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population. Assists with patient data collection and reporting. Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format). Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations. Orients newly hired PCNAs.

What You Will Do

Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assists, under the direction of the RN, in the implementation of the established plan of care. Compassionate in all interactions with patients, families, and peers. Follows established evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes. (15%) Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on unit. Facilitates stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care. Assists with unit communication. Acts as a key resource for onboarding and training new team members.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

• Degreed engineers. All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets and supervision for construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment, able to be performed at customer site. Includes onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, generator diagnostics. Able to make Engineering decisions.
• Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.

• Required Qualifications

• For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Services & Field Services. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
• For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
