As a Design Manager you'll be responsible for managing the design and aspects of building construction projects from concept through to completion. This role ensures the design is delivered to the required quality, budget, and schedule, coordinating closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and management of all design activities on infrastructure projects.
- Review and validate architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist designs to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain the project design program, aligning it with procurement and construction timelines.
- Manage the design team, including internal staff and external consultants.
- Conduct regular design reviews and clash detection, ensuring integration across disciplines.
- Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to secure required approvals and permits.
- Provide technical input during tendering and construction stages, resolving design-related issues.
- Monitor design changes, assess impacts, and manage design-related risks and opportunities.
- Ensure that the design is buildable, cost-effective, and aligns with sustainability and safety goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in design management on infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Proficient in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools) and project management tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
