PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1.- Hands-on Project Management


  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to project execution
  • Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from scope development to commissioning
  • Ensure safe and successful execution of projects in the field.

2.- Team Leadership


  • Manage and mentor a diverse team, including project controllers, document controllers, contract managers, and junior project engineers

3.- Project Performance Monitoring


  • Utilize project metrics to monitor progress effectively
  • Hold EPC contractors accountable for maintaining budget and schedule
  • Develop and implement specific project execution strategies

4.- Contract Management


Manage contracts throughout project lifecycles


Negotiate and resolve contract disputes and claims effectively


5.- Stakeholder Communication


  • Communicate project strategies and status to all stakeholders, including upper management
  • Collaborate with various departments (operations, finance, supply chain, safety) to ensure alignment and compliance

6.- Safety and Compliance


  • Ensure all contractors and suppliers adhere to Air Products' safety regulations and zero-injury goal
  • Conduct and participate in process hazard reviews, HAZOP studies, and cold eye reviews
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and conduct regular inspections

7.- Resource Management


  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Manage project resource allocation progressively
  • Develop accurate estimates, funding documents, schedules, and manpower requirements.

8.- Financial Management


  • Provide ongoing forecasts and maintain projects on budget
  • Work with procurement and purchasing to negotiate equipment, materials, and services within cost targets

9.- Technical Collaboration


  • Coordinate with internal technical resources on project technical and safety issues
  • Ensure projects meet operability needs of customers
  • Adhere to inherent process safety principles in all design and execution phases

10.- Quality Assurance


  • Ensure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews
  • Close out Operational Readiness Inspections (ORIs) with all actions and recommendations completed before handover.

11.- Continuous Improvement


  • Evaluate and assess project progress and results
  • Conduct "lessons learned" sessions for future improvements

12.- Customer Relations


  • Coordinate with customers on third-party project safety compliance and work permitting issues
  • Handle high-level communication with customers and internal/external stakeholders

13.- Project Documentation


  • Oversee project documentation, ensuring all necessary records are maintained and updated
  • Manage project close-out documentation and handover to operations

14.-Technology Integration


  • Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) effectively
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Coordinate with Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases (BHIG) 's internal technical resources on complex issues

  • Helping apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams with design questions, review of deliverables before submission to client and preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
  • Participate in customer meetings as required, active participation in project review meeting and adhere to the detailed project plan to meet on time delivery.
  • To focus on optimized solutions with benefit to customer and HAPG and interface with civil, steel and application engineers on systems or solutions part from Hitachi Energy or EPC companies.

Your background

  • A bachelor’s degree or 3 years of diploma in electrical engineering or relevant industry is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in GIS is required.
  • Hand on experience in 3D tools like ProE / CREO, AUTOCAD, MS Office.
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC/ANSI and high voltage GIS products.
  • Preparation of GIS layouts for various voltage levels as part of product team and understanding of variances and how variances can be minimized in the design.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

Job Description

This role shall be responsible for primary engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear, actively contributing to reducing the lead time and cost of the GIS solution by developing solutions per project technical requirements, with a focus on quality of deliverables.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Provide technical support for tendering and execution of customer projects, including preparation of primary drawings and bill of quantities for engineered gas insulated switchgear items.
  • Serve as the technical lead for substations, managing and leading all engineering activities of the project.
  • Prepare specifications, review supplier offers, and coordinate with supply chain management for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Lead discussions with customers, handle site queries, and take necessary actions.
