Unilabs is seeking detail-oriented and highly motivated Laboratory Technicians to join our growing team in KSA. Laboratory Technicians and Assistant Laboratory Technicians will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Perform bench work;
2. Review of changes to technical documentation, including those of external origin;
3. Validate study reports in their area of responsibility;
4. Check in samples from ARCA;
5. Perform the receiving inspection of items;
6. Check the delivery note against the purchase order;
7. Register non-conformities, complaints, and suggestions and correct them immediately;
8. Draw up templates within their area of intervention;
9. Draw up operating procedures within their area of intervention;
10. Identify inappropriate equipment, RMMs, and supplies associated with the work area;
11. Dispose of samples;
12. Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the work area.

Minimum Requirements

1. Associate/Bachelor's degree in Genomics, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related fields;
2. Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting;
3. Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures;
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
5. Ability to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines;
6. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and computer systems;
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
9. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies;
10. Valid medical laboratory technician certification is preferred, but training will be provided.

We are looking for a qualified Lab Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). He/She will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about doing work that makes things move forward.

Responsebility

• Conducts all standard microbiological testing, including aerobic plate count (APC), yeast, mold, coliform, E. coli, Salmonella, Staph A, and Listeria on all raw materials, in-process, and finished products using a combination of conventional and rapid testing methods.
• Conducts the collection and testing of salmonella on all raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.
• Conducts various chemical and physical tests on raw materials including moisture, viscosity, free fatty acid, peroxide value, percent fat, titratable acidity, total solids, and water activity.
• Performs good housekeeping and clean-up in the lab. Completes administrative work including maintaining Micro Results Logbook, Chemistry Lab Data, as well as other various logs.
• Performs various duties including maintaining samples, packaging tests, thermometer calibration, and production R&D sample analysis.
• Generates various reports including monthly reports which compose of the monthly analysis, flour analysis results, loading summary of all exports, bun scoring, Non-conformance registers, packaging receiving summary, raw material receiving summary, water analysis and food contact surfaces swabs results.
• Completes special projects as directed by the Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
• Create product specifications, and product pictorials for newly developed products.
• Submit Certificate of Analysis to all products prior to release to our customers.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
• Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)
• In depth knowledge of QHSE Systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practices
• Excellent physical condition and endurance
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
• Valid laboratory technician license
• Degree in Microbiology
