Key Responsibilities:

1. Complies and adheres to the Medical Staff By-laws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, departmental and clinical policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvements objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards, and abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Medicine.
2. Ensures compliance with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and Canadian Standards.
3. Evaluates, updates, and develops new laboratory tests/techniques in clinical molecular genetics, genomics, oncology and bioinformatics.
4. Reviews and interprets patients' results reliably, accurately and makes a report with integrity.
5. Participates in educational programs for the staff, medical technology students, interns and residents, and in the continuous education of laboratory staff and physicians.
6. Takes part in the selection of high quality state-of-the-art equipments for molecular, genomic and bioinformatics operations.
7. Oversees quality control and quality assurance including setting quality standards for new tests and procedures and participate in the proficiency testing.
8. Communicates with all physicians, clinicians, healthcare practitioner, and admin regarding patient safety and patient care. Provides education and training to patients and families.
9. Provides high quality patient care in all aspects of KSUMC according to approved clinical privileges.
10. Assists the department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that support to maximize the utilization of all resources within the department and across KSUMC.
11. Contributes and provides consultative services for technical aspects of clinical testings.
12. Monitors and checks on regular basis the compliance of the staff by the quality and safety standards and KSUMC policy bylaws.
13. Participates in research projects per established policy.
14. Delivers presentations and training sessions to promote health, wellbeing and conducts health promotion activities.
15. Develops, updates and administers policies, programs, procedures and training for the entity.
16. Consults with management and recommends corrective measures or procedures where required.
17. Utilizes highly specialized clinical reasoning skills to continually review, analyse, evaluate and adjust interventions and set goals in consultation with service users, and healthcare professionals.
18. Utilizes expert selection, application and interpretation of a range of assessment tools and outcome measures to practice relevant to patient with complex needs.
19. Organizes information in a sensitive and non-discriminatory format in order to communicate potentially sensitive, contentious information gathered during the assessment / intervention process.
20. Prioritizes workload, delegating to others having a flexible approach to working defined by a recognition of service users' needs and service requirements.
21. Performs autonomously within multiple environments across various community and leisure facility settings, guided by highly specialized knowledge and utilizing skills as acknowledged within the scope of practice by KSUMC.
22. Responsible for the continual monitoring, evaluation, and development through audit and research, of the quantity and quality of the service.
23. Leads on the training and support to other professionals and care staff within specific interventions and in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of service.
24. Writes an official delegation of all responsibilities and assignments prior to a leave/ vacation.
25. Performs other job-related duties as assigned as per to the policy within the entity assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in one of the applied medical speciality.
• American Board Certification in Clinical Genetics and Genomics or equivalent related licensure to practice and/or related training in molecular genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or cytogenetics.
• Current Professional Registration from Country of Origin.

Valid registration from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as Consultant Specialist.

Years of Experience:

• Three (3) years of specialized professional post-qualification work experience in related field preferably in a CAP and/or CBAHI accredited laboratories.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
• Proven experience working as a Lab Specialist or in a similar laboratory role
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations, testing procedures, and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in performing laboratory tests
• Understanding of quality control processes and regulatory compliance in the laboratory setting
• Ability to develop and implement laboratory protocols effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Certification from SCFHS is mandatory

Experience:

• Previous supervisory experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is a valuable asset

Bachelor's degree in medical technology or Laboratory science program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required.

Saudi Commission for health specialties Licensure requirement must be met (SCFHS Classification and Saudi MOH Licensed). Medical Laboratory technologists/Scientists certified through the American Pathologist Board of Certification (BOC) ASCP or equivalent is required.

Minimum 12 years' experience in a licensed Medical facility/Clinical laboratory as Lab Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Technology Specialist/Clinical Lab Technology Sub.-Specialty. Or a Master degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

We are seeking a skilled Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist to provide expert maintenance, repair, and calibration services for laboratory research equipment. The specialist will focus on maintaining cooling systems, growth chambers, autoclaves, and glass washers to ensure maximum uptime and minimal downtime. This role includes mentoring junior staff and delivering user training on equipment operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance and repairs on lab equipment.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience maintaining lab , refrigeration equipment, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, focusing on hydraulics.
• Familiarity with equipment from manufacturers such as Buchi, CLF Plant Climatics, Systec, GE, Labconco, Liebherr, Smeg, Panasonic, Peak, Percival, and Thermo-Fisher is highly desirable.
• Ability to conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diverse laboratory apparatus.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and best practices.
• Proven experience maintaining one or more of the following technologies: ultra-low temperature freezers, glassware washers, heat exchangers, press machines, chillers, heaters, and ovens.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering and lab personnel.
• Relevant technical degree or certification in Mechanics, Hydraulics, or a related field.
• Experience with calibration and validation procedures is a plus.
