We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee all laboratory operations within our poultry production company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all labs testing activities related to poultry health, food quality, safety, and environmental monitoring. The role is critical to maintaining biosecurity, regulatory compliance, and product quality standards in line with Saudi Arabian and international regulations.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily laboratory operations including microbiological, chemical, and serological testing related to poultry health, feed, water, and product samples.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control measures, and lab safety protocols.
- Manage laboratory staff: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results to relevant departments (production, QA, veterinary, etc.).
- Monitor and maintain lab equipment calibration, servicing, and documentation.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with SFDA, SASO, and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with veterinary teams to support disease diagnosis, vaccination efficacy testing, and flock health monitoring.
- Support R&D and quality improvement initiatives related to poultry feed formulation, hygiene, and productivity.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Prepare monthly reports, KPIs, and participate in cross-departmental meetings.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in microbiology, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Food Science, Biology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Previous experience in the poultry or livestock sector is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17025, HACCP, GMP, and local Saudi regulations.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficient in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office.

Key Accountability Areas
Laboratory Management
• Supervise all lab activities including raw material analysis, chemical testing, and quality control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

Glaze Preparation management
• Manage glaze formulation, mixing, and application processes.

Quality Control & Production Monitoring
• Ensure that shade variation is under control and keep continuous monitoring on the same. If any deviation is found, adjust accordingly.
• Take approval from R&D manager for any changes and adjustments in the product before start-up of the commercial production.
• To communicate necessary information to departments from body preparation to kiln regarding new developed bodies/glazes, pilot run production and ensure the
specified parameters are included & maintained in those departments.
• To keep control over the pigments/raw materials related to glazes and frequently check the inventory related to the same.
Team Leadership
• Lead, train, and mentor lab technicians and glaze preparation staff.
• To develop leadership qualities and team work in the staff.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet production schedules.

Technology, Process Optimization & Innovation
• To keep control over the pigments/raw materials related to glazes and frequently check the inventory related to the same.
