Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee all laboratory operations within our poultry production company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all labs testing activities related to poultry health, food quality, safety, and environmental monitoring. The role is critical to maintaining biosecurity, regulatory compliance, and product quality standards in line with Saudi Arabian and international regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily laboratory operations including microbiological, chemical, and serological testing related to poultry health, feed, water, and product samples.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control measures, and lab safety protocols.
  • Manage laboratory staff: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results to relevant departments (production, QA, veterinary, etc.).
  • Monitor and maintain lab equipment calibration, servicing, and documentation.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with SFDA, SASO, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with veterinary teams to support disease diagnosis, vaccination efficacy testing, and flock health monitoring.
  • Support R&D and quality improvement initiatives related to poultry feed formulation, hygiene, and productivity.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Prepare monthly reports, KPIs, and participate in cross-departmental meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in microbiology, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Food Science, Biology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Previous experience in the poultry or livestock sector is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 17025, HACCP, GMP, and local Saudi regulations.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficient in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office.

Location Alfaisal University - Riyadh

The Laboratory Technician oversees all operations in the labs, workshops, and studios, including conducting research, supervising students, assisting with lab experiments, and ensuring lab safety protocols are followed. The role involves managing and maintaining additive and subtractive manufacturing systems, such as robotic arms, CNC machines, 3D multijet printers, and laser cutting technologies. The technician also familiarizes new staff with safety equipment locations, supports research and innovation projects, assists researchers and students in prototyping, and ensures compliance with safety protocols. Additionally, the technician handles record keeping, shipping, ordering, and inventory management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots robotic arms, CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutting systems.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to prototype and execute innovative experiments, contributing expertise to design experiments and improve methodologies.
  • Assists in prototyping and fabrication for research and industry projects.
  • Supervises students working in laboratories and workshops, and manages laboratory development and operations.
  • Prepares research materials, including equipment setup and supplies.
  • Ensures laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning; assists with procuring additional laboratory supplies.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and protocols.
  • Manages inventory, calibrations, and system upgrades for lab equipment, including stock management, placing orders, and processing receipts.
  • Provides technical support to researchers and students on safe lab and workshop practices; implements safety protocols and ensures compliance with lab regulations.
  • Conducts tutorial sessions in the lab and workshop.
  • Assists in documenting lab procedures, maintaining records of experiments, helping students prepare reports, and grading reports if needed.
  • Performs regular self-inspections of all equipment to ensure regulatory compliance and familiarizes new staff with safety equipment locations.
  • Posts and maintains regular office hours for advisement and consultation.
  • Performs other duties professionally, effectively, and confidentially as assigned by the manager.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Digital Fabrication, or an equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Classification and Registration.
  • Minimum of three (03) years' experience in lab management, equipment maintenance, research, data collection, and analysis, or related fields. For master's degree holders, at least one year of experience is required.

Plans, directs, and manages the services, activities, and staff of the Invasive Cardiology Lab as directed by the Director, Heart Centre and Director, Clinical Services.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Oversees the overall quality of services provided in the Invasive Cardiology Lab.

2. Suggests cost effective operations for the Invasive Cardiology Lab with the allocated resources in accordance with outcome performance measurement programs.

3. Carries out short and long range operations to ensure the accomplishment of the clinical, financial, and administrative objectives of the Invasive Cardiology Lab, as directed.

4. Assists with the revision, development and implementation of Internal Policies and Procedures.

5. Assists with the implementation of the Invasive Cardiology Lab Continuous Quality Improvement Program and monitors the Lab for compliance of JCIA and other applicable standards. Oversees PI Projects.

6. Supervises the quality and competence of the Invasive Cardiology Lab technical staff through skill based competency assessments, in-service education and workshops. Ensures that new personnel are properly oriented. Oversees the Invasive Cardiology Lab In-Service Education Program. Organises for attendance at relevant conferences, seminars and workshops.

7. Provides reports for Invasive Cardiology Lab Section equipment’s, staffing, process etc. as required.

8. Evaluates employee performance, Counsels staff and recommends disciplinary actions as required.

10. Oversees staffing schedules and ensures that all sections have 24/7 adequate coverage for the provision of service.

11. Evaluates equipment requests and makes recommendations to the Director/Chairman regarding purchase, upgrades and replacements. Ensures all equipment is operating properly, is regularly maintained and repaired.

12. Oversees the overall quality of services provided in the Invasive Cardiology Lab.

13. Suggests cost effective operations for the Invasive Cardiology Lab with the allocated resources in accordance with outcome performance measurement programs.

14. Liaises with other departments to coordinate patient treatment activities.

15. Follows all hospital related policies and procedure.

16. Participates in self-education, training and development, as applicable.

17. Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Education**:
Master’s or Bachelor of Science in Allied Health is required.

**Experience Required**:
Six (6) years of related experience with Master’s or eight (8) years with Bachelor’s, including two (2) years in supervisory capacity required.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:

- Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Certificate in Cardiovascular Technology.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Production Laboratory and Glaze Preparation sections, ensuring consistent quality, process efficiency, and innovation in production. The role involves overseeing raw material testing, glaze formulation, process optimization, and team development to meet production targets and quality standards.

Key Accountability Areas

Laboratory Management

  • Supervise all lab activities including raw material analysis, chemical testing, and quality control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols for new materials and formulations.
  • Maintain calibration and upkeep of lab equipment.

Glaze Preparation management

  • Manage glaze formulation, mixing, and application processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to develop new glaze effects and finishes.
  • Monitor glaze performance during production and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of glazing recipes and process parameters.

Quality Control & Production Monitoring

  • Ensure that shade variation is under control and continuously monitored. If any deviation is found, adjust accordingly.
  • Take approval from R&D manager for any changes and adjustments in the product before start-up of the commercial production.
  • To communicate necessary information to departments from body preparation to kiln regarding new developed bodies/glazes, pilot run production and ensure the specified parameters are included & maintained in those departments.
  • To keep control over the pigments/raw materials related to glazes and frequently check the inventory related to the same.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and mentor lab technicians and glaze preparation staff.
  • Develop leadership qualities and teamwork in the staff.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet production schedules.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Technology, Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles where applicable.
