Join to apply for the Graphic Designer role at Lean Technologies
At Lean, we are dedicated to making account-to-account payments and financial data sharing safe and intuitive for millions of users across MENA. As we expand our solutions, we are committed to designing exceptional experiences that place our users at the center of everything we do.
We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our Design team. In this role, you will help shape our brand experience and visual communication projects, tailoring them for the Saudi market. Your work will directly impact the engagement of the industry with our mission and will help shape and consolidate the future of the Lean brand.
We are seeking a candidate with a sharp visual sense, a keen eye for detail, and a systems-thinking approach. In addition to your strong visual thinking, you excel at crafting designs with words, supporting both our Marketing and Product teams in creating visually compelling and localized content. You'll contribute to everything from public channels and marketing collateral to the copywriting within our products.
Who are we
Lean enables companies to seamlessly connect to their users’ bank accounts to initiate real-time payments and retrieve their account information. Our products have garnered the trust of leading companies and enabled them to deliver powerful experiences when connected with a user’s bank account, allowing users to perform prudent financial planning, get better rates on loans, transfer money to friends, and more, without compromising on privacy or security.
Some of Lean’s clients include the likes of Ciclys, Tabby, Tamara, Salla, Tawuniya, and many more, making it the region’s most valuable Open Banking platform. The company has now processed billions of dollars, and its products are also connected with hundreds of thousands of accounts. Lean envisions a fully inclusive financial ecosystem that serves everyone, no matter where they bank or live in the MENAP region.
Responsibilities
- Produce localized and engaging visual assets in Arabic and English. From social media announcements to long-form editorial pieces like reports and white papers which we distribute digitally as well as printed.
- Bridge the gaps between our Product and Commercial teams to unify all the visual aspects of the Lean Experience. From showcasing our product interfaces in mockups and demos to the entire product marketing resources and technical guides sent to clients using our Design Standards.
- Support our visual identity and marketing projects by bringing your knowledge of the Saudi culture and identity to influence the look and feel of Lean’s branding.
- Document future updates to our branding guidelines and advocate for good branding standards across the company and codify our team decisions into solid consistent foundations.
- Work with Product Marketing, Commercial, and our Client Operations teams to visualize rather complex technical and abstract concepts into elegant, pixel-perfect and scalable reusable graphic resources.
- Become an evangelist of our Design Principles and Best Practices inside Lean and with our clients and become a local champion in everything related to Design.
Minimum Qualifications
- You can demonstrate between 4 -6 years of experience at in-house or agency work.
- You have worked across different types of media, from static to animated, and digital to print.
- You work proficiently with Figma, InDesign, After Effects, and Illustrator.
- Your portfolio demonstrates a deep understanding of Design fundamentals: typography, color, spacing, layout compositions, and thoughtful approach to visual styling.
- You can help your team translate concepts to Arabic from English and vice versa.
- You have a vast knowledge of the latest trends and techniques in art and graphic design, particularly those being produced by Middle Eastern Design communities.
- You have a natural ability to codify and document design decisions clearly, maintain a well-organized file structure, and ensure a transparent and accessible design process for seamless team collaboration.
Who you are
- You see Design as a discipline that can extend beyond just an artwork or an interface. Your craft shows an intuitive and intentional use of Design fundamentals such as typography, scale, balance, space & colors and grid systems.
- You’re comfortable working within an agile and iterative Design workflow. You feel comfortable translating vague ideas into rough visualizations and then into pixel-perfect artworks.
- Your work shows elegant and powerful visual communication skills and thoughtful consistency over flair.
- You’re familiar with design systems and its relationship with brand style guidelines.
- You’re proficient with design tools and you’re constantly exploring new tools and technologies. You work from the bottom line to the hidden tricks and shortcuts that boost the quality and optimize time-to-outcomes (Our stack is Notion, Figma, InDesign, Pitch and After Effects).
- You care about elite communication. Both written, visual and spoken makes decisions easier, and keeps everyone informed.
- Beyond internal communication, you feel comfortable designing with words to help the company address our Saudi audience. You can easily help us localize instructions, visuals, and microcopy.
- You embrace feedback as an opportunity to deliver your best work and a world-class experience to our customers and you don’t hesitate on raising your bar.
- You aim to be self-sufficient, prioritizing your own research, and asynchronous communication through documentation and threads before requiring assistance from the team.
- You’re passionate about technology, financial products and trends across the world. The products we build are used by millions of people in the Middle East.
NB. While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply!
Why Join us?
Lean is the first regulated open banking and open finance company operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Since 2019 we've been on a mission to become the pre-eminent A2A payments company in the Middle East - enabling our clients to seamlessly connect to their users’ bank accounts to initiate real-time payments and retrieve account information. Our products have garnered the trust of some of the leading companies in the region, including the likes of Etisalat Group, Careem, Binance, Tabby, Tamara, Tawuniya, and more.
To date, Lean has processed billions of dollars, and our products have connected with hundreds of thousands of accounts across the region. We've recently announced our $67.5 million Series B funding round led by General Catalyst, following earlier investment from Sequoia Capital. This funding marks a major milestone for Lean and the financial ecosystem across the MENA region. At Lean, we’re committed to driving the next generation of financial innovation by making financial data and payments more accessible and transparent for businesses and consumers alike.
To that end, we're always on the lookout for talented, driven, and entrepreneurial candidates to join us in our mission of enabling the next generation of financial innovation. If you're motivated by solving hard problems and leaving a lasting legacy while you're at it, Lean's where you need to be.
Not only do we offer competitive salaries, private healthcare, and flexible office hours, but we also insist that every member of the team hold a meaningful equity stake in the business to ensure long-term alignment. We'd love you to join us for this journey!
