Your key duties
We are looking for curious and motivated Urban Planners to be based in our Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Office that have a passion for the built environment, and are eager to learn what shapes them. The successful candidate will have a desire in helping make the cities of the Middle East better places for its people and the environment by supporting the planning team in developing concepts and strategies to achieve those aims.
Strong analytical and graphic skills will be paired with an inquisitive outlook on the themes of strategic planning, development or master planning. The successful candidate will have good understanding of pertinent built environment issues, skills visual communication and delivery interest in a consultancy environment .
- Supporting the continued growth of the planning team in the middle east
- Working with other consulting disciplines, such as sustainability and economics
- Delivery of analytical and graphic tasks, as well as critical design and planning thinking
- An appreciation of built environment issues and a basic understanding of the interplay of planning with transport, infrastructure, environment, sustainability, resilience etc.
- Supporting delivery of work winning proposals and preparing bid submissions
- Support and proactively engage in promoting and communicating current and future offerings of the planning team
- Balancing demands and priorities, whilst ensuring supporting the planning team with overall workload
- Collaborating and engaging with peers and senior members of the team, in the middle east and the wider Buro Happold network of offices
Your Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree relevant to the built environment in planning, design or engineering such as Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- A general appreciation of the GCC market and the cities within
- Communication and presentation skills engaging with the team
- A desire to grow and continuously improve the quality in our work
- IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Mastery of the Adobe suite package of design tools is an added benefit
- Mastery of CAD or GIS packages is and added benefit
- Arabic language skill a desired benefit

Key Responsibilities- Drive rigorous and structured approach to identifying and solving complex technology business problems that leads to strategic insights
- Identify / prioritize value creation opportunities at the intersection of business and technology based on assessment activities and an understanding of high-level visions, performance gaps, and needs
- Lead independently small engagements or stream of work end-to-end across all delivery components : client satisfaction, value delivered, teams management, financials, etc.
- Identify and nurture pull-through business opportunities, support business development effort with client and Accenture teams until successful sale closure
- Collaborate with clients and within Accenture to align their business and technology priorities
- Develop content knowledge and share through pro-active involvement in technology strategy operations and community of practices
- Lead the creation of well-articulated thought leadership assets that present innovative insights, knowledge, guidance and recommendations on a specific market-relevant technology strategy domain
- Interaction with senior management at a client and / or Accenture to steer recommendations and obtain buy-in on matters that may require alternate approach
Strong data-driven consulting with focus on business and technology value architecting and realization
Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on assignments
Management of team efforts at a client or within Accenture
Ability to pull-through business opportunitiesExperience and understanding of core technology strategy offerings – IT & Digital technology strategy, enterprise architecture, operating model, data & analytics, cloud
Experience in technology advisory and / or implementationStrong Airport / Aviation past experience – Ideally IT / OT, smart services, architecture.
Pro-actively acquired business knowledge beyond technical role or via business school i.e. MBA
QualificationsMinimum 8-15 years’ of total work experience - at least 5 years in IT / Digital technology strategy
Proven and relevant past consulting experience; alternatively strong in-house IT & Digital strategy / enterprise architecture division / advanced startup / pre-sales roles (but would have to demonstrate exceptional intrinsic consulting skills)
Fluent in English
