Overview:

We are seeking an Environmental professional to join Saudi Aramco Upstream Business Support department, Operational Excellence and Compliance (UOE&CD) Division.

The Environmental Group under the UOE&CD oversees and report on environmental requirements and activities to the President of Upstream driving performance through close monitoring, optimizing processes and providing guidance and support to operating departments within the business line.

Key Responsibilities:

As successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

• Ensure Upstream operations remain compliant with ISO 14001 requirements by conducting Environmental Management System (EMS) audits and Environmental Compliance Assessments (ECA) to improve/maintain Environmental Leadership KPI, bridge compliance gaps and prepare facilities for corporate assessments.
• Identify and address gaps in compliance against current Corporate and Government regulations.
• Report environmental compliance aspects including scorecard dashboard KPIs, internal metrics and indicators. These are mainly flaring, SO2 emissions, GHG emission, water conservation, waste management, Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Particulate Matter (PMs) & Carbon Dioxide (CO2).
• Support sustainability reporting process by facilitating the environmental third-party assurance audits with corporate, reviewing reports prior to issuance.
• Advise on regulatory compliance aspects and improving environmental processes.
• Engage external stakeholders for issues related to environmental compliance in liaison with relevant corporate entities and representatives.
• Monitor performance of modified processes to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
• Evaluate data and provide trend analysis and highlight gaps in compliance followed by recommendations to address potential gaps identified.
• Advice upstream operations on managing environmental risks and provide recommendations to mitigate impacts.
• Provide expert feedback to Company standards review committees and advice revision process.

Minimum Requirements:

• As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or an environmental science degree with relevant experience in the industry. An advanced degree is (Master’s degree).
• You will have 5-10 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
• You must have proven experience in environmental management systems including auditing ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems;
• Certifications such as certified environmental professional (CEP), ISO14001 EMS Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Environmental Management, GRI sustainability professional certification are also .
• Experience in waste management, water conservation, air quality monitoring, reporting is a requirement.
• You will have good understanding of GHG Reporting Accounting Standards, International Best Practices in pollution prevention and mitigation.

Responsibilities

· Will investigate of major incidents and accidents and will assist where required in accident, incident and significant near miss investigations.

· Will audit the SHE arrangements and their application across the business

· Monitoring of SHE performance in BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and the implementation of the Group and Business unit SHE Policy, Standards and Procedures.

· Provide practical interpretation of legal requirements applying to SHE matters to managers and staff.

· Provide competent advice and assistance to all staff, enabling them to discharge their responsibilities under the SHE Policy.

· Will provide competent advice and assistance across the business areas and sectors on compliance with the Group and Business Unit SHE Policy, Framework and Standards.

· Will provide oversight, support, advice and guidance to the SHE Coordinators within their areas of responsibility relating to the application and delivery of the SHE policy and Standards at the operational locations.

· Assist risk assessors and become part of the Risk Assessment Team where required.

· Provide competent advice with regard to the safety aspects of the host country legislation, approved codes of practice and standards, and information from interested parties and professional bodies which may have an impact on operations.

· Ensure the integrity of the data held on SHE Intranet Site and Reporting metrics (including validation, accuracy and currency audits) and collate statistics and management reports from these sources.

· Support the area manager or SHE Manager by providing a single central source of competent advice on all SHE issues, ensuring consistency of approach by applying the designated standards across BAE Systems Saudi Arabia

· Will carry out “Contractor Assessments” of Service Contractors in accordance with the process defined within the Standard.

· Provide competent advice and guidance at SHE Committee Meetings.

· Will assist in the attainment and maintenance of relevant international standards as set by the Business i.e. 45001/14001 etc

· Where required, deliver mandated training as detailed within the “SHE Training” document such as SHE Induction for new arrivals and transferees (all nationalities), BeSafe, Fire Awareness and Fire Warden Training.

· Will develop and deliver workplace specific training courses such as MH, WAH, COSHH, RA etc.; identified through risk assessments, accident investigations, trends analysis, or to support a particular programme or improvement.

Job Requirements:

· Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have the appropriate qualifications and experience and are eligible to register with the the MHRSD as either an Ocupational Health & Safety Practitioner or as a Professional as per the requirements of Ministerial Decision 76509.

· The SHE Senior Professional must have technical knowledge of a sufficient level and depth to enable support to all aspects of the business they are deployed in.

· Technical experience should include manufacturing, multi-site, contractor management, leisure facilities, and hazardous substances - desirable for specific aviation industry, military engineering, systems support and support services experience at a practical and operational level.

· The SHE Senior Professional must be able to influence at all levels within the organisation; therefore, in addition to technical knowledge certain key behavioural competencies are required:

· Communications skills

· Analytical skills
