Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree of Science from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.

**Experience Required**:
Six (6) years of related experience with Master’s Degree, or eight (8) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
? Proven records of presenting original data at least once in a national or international meeting.

? Proof of working knowledge in safety measures such as biological, radiological, and/or chemical in form of certificates.

The Senior Technical Specialist – General Systems and Support plays a crucial role in delivering technical expertise and support within the Aircraft Systems and Support function. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical management of general systems, including Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and other support products, ensuring adherence to airworthiness standards and regulatory requirements. The position involves providing specialist support, troubleshooting, and system analysis to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Typhoon aircraft fleet, ensuring that RSAF’s operational and maintenance objectives are met.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical Expertise and Support:

  • Provide expert technical support for the operation and maintenance of aircraft General Systems and Support equipment, including AGE, powered vehicles, training rigs, test equipment, and special-to-type support equipment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in General Systems, providing guidance and technical advice to the team, RSAF, and In-Kingdom Industrial Partners (IKIP).
  • Resolve technical issues by analysing system failures, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to enhance system reliability and performance.

Technical Request Management:

  • Review, prioritise, and manage Technical Requests (TRs) related to general systems and support products through the Team Centre Query resolution process.
  • Ensure TRs are addressed within service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure compliance with airworthiness and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including UK-based teams, to ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

System Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor the performance of general systems and support equipment, identifying trends, potential failures, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit regular technical reports, summarising TR activities, identifying system performance issues, and proposing solutions.

Training & Development:

  • Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and coaching to RSAF and Saudi National Technical Specialists, ensuring continuous improvement in technical capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver specialised training programs on general systems and support products, ensuring RSAF personnel maintain high levels of proficiency.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Maintain effective communication with RSAF, IKIP, the Typhoon Design Support Team, the Typhoon Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), and the UK-based In-Service Support Team (ISST).
  • Lead technical support for special projects and collaborate with other teams to ensure the integration of General Systems into the broader operational framework.

Compliance and Process Improvement:

  • Ensure all activities comply with Continuing Airworthiness (CA) requirements, Approved Data requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise technical operations, reduce downtime, and enhance system performance.

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Support the maintenance of the Safety Case for General Systems and Support operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Lead risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement risk mitigation strategies related to the operation and maintenance of general systems.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience supported by formal recorded OR extensive proven experience in relevant CA or maintenance related
  • Do you have substantial proven Typhoon experience either as Technical Services Senior Specialist OR Maintenance Senior Supervisor (3rd signature holder with Typhoon Q course)
  • Do you have substantial proven experience in a relevant Management role
  • Able to describe or demonstrate a Practitioner level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness and the aircraft types managed and a Practitioner level of knowledge of the aircraft maintenance environment.
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC in a relevant technical discipline, or Part 66 Category C qualified, or National civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised national aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent accepted to M&CA.
  • Strong knowledge of Typhoon aircraft systems, AGE, and associated support products, with experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in managing Technical Requests (TRs) and using systems such as TeamCentre for Request resolution.

  • Provide technical support for custom development, user defined functions, interfaces, reports, extracts, data migration scripts and conversions.
  • High debugging and troubleshooting skills to identify the application issues.
  • Supporting the application support team troubleshooting the reported issues.
  • Provide advice and best practices to Partners for technical areas such as networks, configurations, architectures etc.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and performance analysis for reports, stored procedures, interfaces, conversions, data migration scripts and user defined functions.
  • Escalate Open (unresolved) problems in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Participate of preparing training materials for technical courses such as system custom development or reporting.
  • Participate of preparing of technical documentation such as reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, knowledge-based articles and how-to’s.
  • Continuously improve customer satisfaction by soliciting customer suggestions for product and service improvements and then escalating such suggestions to management.
  • Improve response time to customer inquiries by continuously improving communication, analytical, and learning skills.
  • Participate in on-site technical training if required.
  • Participate in on-site technical support if required.
  • Participate in the on call support 24-hour roster service, to ensure support is always available for our customers.
  • Preferably experience with Hospital’s business workflows.
  • Support the application specialist in analysing complex root causes of incident tickets. The goal is to improve the client’s experience with the system by resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist the Product and Implementation teams by providing insights to make the product more consistent, robust, and user-friendly. Support them by reporting and testing product tickets when needed to improve the client experience.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably experience with Hospital’s business workflows.
  • Preferably strong Knowledge in InterSystems Object Script: Experience in working with and troubleshooting routines, stored procedures, and objects.
  • Preferably Expertise in IRIS Tables and Globals: understanding of how persistent classes and tables relate to globals, including default global mapping and manual mappings.
  • Performance Troubleshooting: Skilled in diagnosing and improving performance issues in stored procedures, SQL queries, and data extracts or reports, especially those using Caché ObjectScript.
  • Experience of web-oriented languages, including HTML, and Java script.
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis and database methodologies
  • Preferably experience with HL7 technologies.
  • Knowledge of programming languages – ideally Java or C++
  • Experience working in software not limited to a Developer, Quality Engineer, and/or Solutions Architect
  • Experience with data analysis and database methodologies
  • Be able to design and write technical documents.
  • Well-versed in Internet / Intranet concepts and Microsoft IIS.
  • Preferably experience within InterSystems products (IRIS, Ensemble) is required.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Job Description

The prime responsibility of the technical specialist will be for all technical aspects related to Health Matrix products, including pre-sales, project implementations, and 2nd Line support services. The role also involves participating in hardware and software capacity surveys, implementations, changes, or configurations where required. The technical specialist delivers advisory services to clients on how to implement and configure Health Matrix products in line with current technical best practices. They consider the objectives and goals of clients and advise on how to configure, build, and use Health Matrix products to meet these objectives.

The technical specialist must have knowledge of the latest technologies to provide options for infrastructure design for Health Matrix products, including advantages and disadvantages of each technology. Researching and selecting the most cost-efficient solutions for software needs will also be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality solutions on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to the client's business.
  • Handle technical tasks such as installation, configuration, setup, and upgrades of applications and components.
  • Manage integration tasks, including building, configuring, setting up, and modifying applications and components.
  • Perform technical analyses, working with subject matter experts to ensure user needs are correctly specified and effectively implemented.
  • Provide infrastructure specifications for installing and hosting software, and identify suitable technical solution alternatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical domain and integrations.
  • Good knowledge and experience in coding and programming.
  • Experience with integration engines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of HL7 integrations is a plus.
