Build and develop customs-related strategies for the group across different countries in the region. Maintain and enhance relationships with customs agencies and government authorities for goods classification and declaration. Maximize relationships with suppliers and customs brokers. Analyze the economic impact of modifications in product origin or classification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Information and Data Management: Work closely with SPOCs at origin to support Master Data management.
- Reporting to Senior Management: Regularly update the transport Director at the group level on the performance of customs brokers and government agencies.

Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of logistics regulations, customs, and incoterms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large data sets from multiple sources and countries.
- Knowledge of ISO, OHSAS, and environmental management systems is advantageous.

What you’ll be doingBuild and develop customs related strategy for the group across the different countries in the region. Maintain and further develop existing relationships with customs agencies and government authorities for goods classification and declaration. Maximize the relationship with suppliers and customs brokers. Analyse economic impact in case of modification of product origin or classification.
Key Responsibilities- Information and data management :
- Work closely with SPOC’s at origin to provide Master Data management support
- Reporting to Senior Management:
Work closely with and provide regular updates to the transport Director at the group level on the performance of customs brokers and government agencies - Oversee Quality and Performance:
Monitor the quality of paperwork provided by internal customs for customs declaration. Proactively support internal customs in improving the documentation quality as per each country requirements - Advise on Cost-Effective Solutions:
Provide guidance and recommendations for cost-effective solutions based on origin and classification for savings on Duty Drawbacks - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all operations are carried out in compliance with state, customs, and other applicable regulations. Monitor adherence to the defined processes, terms, and timeframes for service execution. - Accurate Billing and Invoicing:
Ensure that Business Units are billed accurately as per the services price list and monitor customs broker invoices for correctness and compliance with agreed price lists. - Customs and Regulatory Compliance Management:
Oversee adherence to customs, dangerous goods regulations, and other applicable rules to ensure safe and lawful shipment handling. - Meet and develop continuous relationship with customs and regulatory government agencies across the region.
- Audit Management:
Ensure all shipments are properly recorded in the systems and manage potential audit requests for information from authorities - Stakeholder Communication and Meetings:
Attend operational meetings with Freight Forwarders, Customs, Customers, and other stakeholders to discuss and resolve any operational challenges and service performance issues. - Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
Provide accurate reporting and analysis as per management requirements. Demonstrate adaptability, openness to change, and a commitment to continuous improvement in operations. - Additional Responsibilities:
- Team Development and Support:
Train, guide, and support team members in the execution of required tasks. - Compliance and Integrity Management:
Ensure immediate reporting of any breaches in Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001) quality, health & safety, environmental procedures, company policies, or security protocols, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in managing import/export customs operations and customs clearance.
- Strong understanding of logistics regulations, customs, and incoterm related customs processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Used to work with large amounts of data from different sources and countries of origin.
- Knowledge of ISO, OHSAS, and environmental management systems is a plus.
- SAP experience.
- Arabic and English speaking.
