Tecnimont and Tecnimont Arabia Limited have been awarded two lump-sum turn-key EPC contracts related to a petrochemical expansion at the SATORP Refinery (a JV composed of Saudi Aramco and Total Energies), in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The overall value of the contracts is approximately USD 2 billion. The contracts relate to the execution of two packages of the complex, namely the “Derivatives Units” package - which includes a butadiene extraction unit, an olefin extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether unit, a butadiene selective hydrogenation unit, a 2nd stage pygas hydrogenation unit and benzene & toluene extraction unit - and the “High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Logistic Area” package, which includes two polyethylene units and the relevant product logistic facilities.
The project’s scope of work entails complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, construction activities, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, and shall have a duration of approximately 4 years.
- The Construction Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of Mechanical Construction for Rotating Equipment activities through the Construction Rotating Equipment Supervisors (PIS)
Duties and responsibilities
- He has direct responsibility on management of Mechanical Subcontractor(s) for Rotating Equipment.
- He will ensure that their performances are carefully monitored in terms of schedule, quality and cost, and he will coordinate all necessary recovery actions whenever detect deviation from schedule or specifications under the guidance of Construction manager.
- He ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities.
- He directly participates to the HSE activities at site as defined for his position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- A university Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience
- Relevant experience in construction/modernization of oil & gas /industrial sector/ EPC projects large refinery plants.
- 8-year experience on Rotating Equipment's.
- Experience working on Main Contractor side.
- Previous approval from KSA clients will be considered an advantage for further evaluation.
Skills and Abilities

Workshop Operations Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources, equipment, and personnel
Conduct, monitor, and ensure all servicing and maintenance work of all ranges of heavy earthmoving and heavy equipment.
**Main Tasks**:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy and plan for heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and longevity
- Set out the business operation strategy in line with the company strategy
- Plan and schedule routine preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, and servicing of machinery and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules
- Coordinate and oversee the troubleshooting, diagnosis, and timely repairs of machinery breakdowns or malfunctions, minimizing downtime and disruptions to operations
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance, including the use of condition-monitoring techniques and predictive maintenance tools. Identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Provide technical and functional leadership for operations & maintenance, quality implementation
- Coordinate with all concerned to secure spare parts, tools, new machines, vehicles, and plants, and effectively manage inventory
- Provided solutions for engine and hydraulic system issues and machines
- Conduct all field service activities in accordance with company policy
- Provide prompt and efficient field response to customer’s warranty needs for new equipment
- Liaise with concerned parties to arrange to commission when required for new equipment
- Administer and manage warranty claims and service contracts for dealership and commercial customers.
- Ensure compliance with warranty policies and procedures
- Ensure strategic utilization of available resources & machinery; ensuring smooth & uninterrupted operations of the unit and maintaining reports
- Negotiate and manage service agreements, contracts, and warranties with customers, ensuring clarity in terms and conditions, service levels, and obligations
- Interact with customers, understand their requirements, address their concerns, and provide technical support and advice.
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Monitor their work to ensure quality and timely completion of tasks
**Education and Experience**:
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field is typically required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the heavy machinery industry, is highly desirable, including leadership and managerial experience within the KSA market
**Technical Knowledge**:
Experience in operations management and strong knowledge of heavy machinery, equipment maintenance, and repair procedures. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engine diagnostics is important such as:
- Light and Heavy Commercial Vehicles: (Long Haulage Truck, Tipper, Trailer, Tanker, Buses, Cargo Crane, etc.)
- Earth Moving Equipment: (Dozers, Excavators, Trenchers, Graders, Shoves, Asphalt Paving Machines, etc.)
- Heavy Lifting Equipment: (Mobile and Crawler Cranes, Forklifts, etc.)
- Construction Equipment: (Tower Cranes, Placing Boom, Passenger Hoist, Concrete Pumps, etc.)
- Power Generators and so on Plant & factories: (Batching Plant, Asphalt Plant, Precast Factories)
- Steel fabrication: (Commercial Vehicles Bodybuilding, Steel Shade Workshop Building, etc)

Job Description
- Responsible to follow all safety instruction while doing assigned job.
- Scrap baskets delivery to furnaces is the basic responsibility of shunt operator.
- Give proper feedback to the reliever during shift changeover.
- Close coordination with scrap controller.
- Asking shift scrap controller about the planning for the shift.
- Adding fluxes in scrap baskets as per instructions of scrap controller.
- Responsible for cleaning Scrap Shunt Cars, Scrap Trailers and basket loading area during the shift.
- Preventive check of equipment diesel / other lubes before starting normal shift duties.
- Assisting automobile workshop for maintenance of shunt cars.
- Responsible to check Equipment before startup & ensure the following parameters are properly functional:
- Engine oil level is ok.
- Radiator coolant level is ok.
- Air Filter Element is clean.
- Hydraulic oil level is sufficient.
- Radiator water is not having any leakage.
- Observe for any Oil or Water Leakages.
- Reporting for the critical items, damages etc.
- Informed Foreman / Supervisor if found any abnormality or unsafe condition with the Equipment.
- Execution of Housekeeping or any other jobs as instructed by shift Foreman / Supervisor.
Other Responsibilities:
- Strictly following the safe working practices and safety rules of the organization as per HS&E Policy.
- Strictly Follow the Safety Instruction related to the Jobs.
- Keep issued PPE in good and workable condition.
- Do not allow any unsafe PPE usage by staff; report PPE damages to concerned authority.
- Avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipments and welfare facilities.
- Should attend the safety training scheduled for them.
- Have right to say” NO” to any unsafe work.
- SBT / On the Job training / Toolbox Talks to the Sub-ordinates.
- STOP program awareness & implementation.
- Ensure standard practice is being followed & any deviation to be reported.
- The employee will work in General Shift / Shift Rota as per company requirement.
- Employee can be transfer to any production unit within company as per company requirement.
