Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Engineer located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing various civil engineering projects, including stormwater management. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with other engineers, preparing project reports, conducting site assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate civil construction activities across infrastructure, structural, or earthworks packages
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, project timelines, and HSE protocols
• Collaborate daily with subcontractors, field engineers, safety personnel, and quality control teams
• Monitor execution on site, verify documentation, and support technical problem-solving
• Participate in site inspections, approvals, and coordination with regulatory stakeholders
• Support project management in progress reporting and decision-making

Your Profile:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Relevant experience in construction environments, preferably within large infrastructure, high-rise, or industrial projects
• Practical understanding of construction workflows, drawings, and technical compliance
• Ability to work hands-on on site, manage interfaces, and adapt to changing project needs
• Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and safety guidelines
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus

As a Civil Engineer, you are responsible for project management, professional/technical engineering, engineering design and review, standards survey work, inspections, and using engineering software applications.

Other duties and responsibilities:

1. Prepares and approves designs for projects in accordance with general engineering principles and standards; determines scope, designs, prepares drawings, specifications, bidding documents, contracts, and cost estimates for projects; conducts and coordinates design and construction surveying.
2. Conducts construction inspections, reviews and approves contractor pay requests; reviews and processes construction change orders.
3. Provides design data for surveying and engineering applications using CAD; word processing; spreadsheets; and uses appropriate computer hardware; responsible for data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports.
4. Determines selection criteria and collaborates with purchasing staff to select engineering consultants and contractors; specifies parameters and determines scope of work for consultants and contractors; reviews and approves work conducted by consultants; reviews and approves consultants' pay requests.
5. Provides technical assistance and consults with other departments regarding engineering functions.
