Overview
Aggreko Eritrea Graduate Technician Program – 12-month fixed term contract. At Aggreko, we provide energy solutions so businesses can grow and communities can thrive. Our graduate technician program is designed to give you hands-on experience in power generation as you work in a powerplant designed, built and operated to high industry standards.
This program is based in Eritrea and is exclusive to Eritrean nationals. In Eritrea, Aggreko supplies power to the BMSC mining complex located in the Gash Barka region. We operate a hybrid plant with 30 MW installed capacity (24 MW thermal and 6 MW PV).
Responsibilities- Gain theoretical knowledge in power generation, specifically for thermal, PV and hybrid power plants.
- Work with the project operations team in the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of powerplant equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, inverters, and related components.
- Participate in a project in application engineering or continuous improvement, applying knowledge gained during the program.
- Collaborate with others in a team-focused environment to feel welcome and included while performing work.
- Hands-on experience in the maintenance of powerplant equipment and readiness to take a technician role in a powerplant.
- Theoretical knowledge in power generation for thermal, PV and hybrid powerplants.
- At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred).
- Some technical knowledge or experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally in power generation.
- Passionate about mechanical or electrical engineering with a positive attitude to work.
- Business-level English and good teamwork skills.
- To comply with national labour laws in Eritrea, selected graduates must present their national release document from military service.
