Senior Customer Engineer, Data Management, Google Cloud Platform (Arabic, English)

Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth storage and database expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture (e.g., database administration and solutions) in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience architecting solutions for data transformation, migration, governance strategies, availability, or disaster recovery.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic and English fluently, as this is a customer-facing role that requires interaction with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in disaster recovery and data backup strategies.
  • Experience with optimizing database performance with respect to transactional or analytic workloads.
  • Experience in prospecting, building and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building Greenfield territories in Enterprise accounts.
  • Experience with data migration strategies and moving large scale production systems either in on-premise/data center environments or migration to cloud scenarios.
  • Experience in understanding a complex customer’s existing software workloads and the ability to define a technical migration roadmap to the Cloud reflecting specific customer needs.
  • Knowledge of SQL and query troubleshooting.

**Minimum qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience planning and executing cloud adoption governance, IT transformation, and cloud migrations, focusing on infrastructure modernization and technical implementation.
+ Ability to communicate in English and Arabic fluently, to support client relationship management in this region.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Certification in GCP Professional Cloud Architect or other relevant cloud certifications.
+ Experience with customer-facing cloud migration engagements for multiple enterprise clients, encompassing service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations, with a focus on infrastructure modernization and migration to GCP.
+ Experience driving the development of technical solutions that address critical business challenges, partnering with cross-functional and technical teams.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Work with customer technical leads, client executives, and partners to manage and deliver successful infrastructure-focused implementations and migrations to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), becoming a trusted advisor to decision-makers.
+ Manage the deployment of cloud-based distributed virtualized infrastructure solutions according to complex customer requirements. Contribute to the development of standardized solutions and automation scripts.
+ Lead the program management of multi-functional large Google Cloud Professional Services projects, covering program planning, delivery assurance, tracking, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management. Manage risks, issues, and actions. Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders.
+ Demonstrate a deep understanding of infrastructure and cloud migration phases (discovery/assessment, foundations, and migration).
+ Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks/issues, and timelines. Mentor junior consultants and actively participate in community contributions.

As a Solutions Engineer at Cisco, you will work closely with the Service Provider Sales team to identify customer needs, demonstrate Cisco solutions, and design tailored products that drive digital transformation. You will provide expert technical guidance focused on customer success and aligned outcomes, while enjoying the flexibility to manage your work in a way that delivers the best results for both customers and your team. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication to connect customer business drivers to Cisco solutions effectively.

+ Lead pre-sale activities such as quoting, network design, technical and financial proposals, and pre-sale testing, etc.
+ Demonstrate expertise in cross-architectural solutions spanning Service Provider Routing, Service Provider Mobility, Cloud Compute, Data Center Routing and Switching, Security, Automation and more.
+ Alongside your technical skills, you will continuously learn and stay current on networking trends to drive customer success and innovation.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Demonstrated ability to design, architect, and deploy scalable cloud solutions using Cisco cloud technologies and hybrid cloud architectures, ensuring seamless integration with existing data center environments.
+ Cisco Secure AI Factory Expertise Proficient in proposing, designing, and implementing Cisco Secure AI Factory solutions, including AI-ready data center infrastructure, security-first architecture, and AI software platforms, to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and secure AI workloads.
+ Data Center Networking and Compute Solutions Skilled in configuring and managing Cisco data center networking products such as Nexus 9000 Series switches, ACI, UCS compute platforms, Intersight (or equivalent competitor products) GPU, Storage to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure data center environments.
+ Thorough expert of protocols like VOQ, VDC, VPC, FABRIC PATH, VXLAN, OTV, SAN, VSA; FCIP, FCOE, N1000V, ROCv2.
+ Have software programming skills and its usage with Cisco APIs.
+ Knowledge and understanding of Software Automation evolution, Micro-Services architecture, and Container networking.
+ 5+ years of shown success in designing end-to-end enterprise network.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ CCIE DC certification, Cisco Devnet, Microsoft Azure certification, Google Cloud certification, AWS certification or equivalent is preferred.
+ Presales experience working with telecom/service provider customers.
+ Strong understanding of adjacent technologies/architecture such as Service provider networking, Security, Enterprise routing and switching, collaboration, Mobility.
+ Skilled in understanding the customers' business drivers and aligning these to Cisco solutions.
+ Negotiation skills to craft solutions that are beneficial to our customers and Cisco.
+ Have hands on experience in routing and switching products.
+ Capabilities to lead a group of people with various technical background.
+ Fluency in Arabic language.

U.S. employees haveaccess ( to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.
Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco's flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco's Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
