About the HospitalOriginally opened in 1982, this National Guard hospital has expanded to a current bed strength of 800 beds to serve the needs of the military, their dependents, civilians, and VIP patients in the Jeddah area. The hospital provides specialist care in Anaesthesia & ICU, Cardiopulmonary Services, Oral & Dental Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Medical Imaging, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Surgery, and the Home Health Care Program.
It is also home to a state-of-the-art Oncology Centre opened in 2001 with Medical Oncology and Paediatric Oncology as the focus. Subsequent developments have expanded services to include Bone Marrow Transplantation, Brachytherapy, and Outreach Programs.
Qualifications RequiredTo qualify as a consultant with this institution, and as per licensing authorities, you will need:
- 2 years Consultant experience in a Western hospital
- 2 years post-specialist qualification experience from the following countries:
- UK – CCT
- USA – American Board
- Canada – Canadian Fellowship
- Ireland – CSD/CSCST
- Australia & New Zealand – Fellowship
- France – DES/DESC
- Other European countries according to the qualification equivalence tables of the SCFHS.
- Salary: To be advised
- Bonus: Half a month’s salary at the end of the contract
- Contract duration: 1 or 2 years, renewable
- Contract status: Family – Spouse and 3 children
- Accommodation: Free of charge, fully furnished
- Flights: Provided for self and family
- Baggage allowance: 200 SAR per person
- Vacation: 51 days total, including local holidays
- Study leave: 7 paid days with travel allowance
- Education allowance: Up to 3 children
- Medical cover: Provided for self and family
- Working hours: 42.5 hours/week, 5 days
- On call: As required within specialty
- Start date: By agreement
Additional benefits include free on-site housing and utilities, recreational facilities, and education allowances for children from year 1 to year 9, with additional support for years 10-12.

Job Description
- To manage the care of new and follow up patients at Riyadh Hospital from consultation through to completion of treatment.
- To maintain accurate and clear medical records.
- To ensure consistent medical treatment of patients by working in accordance with agreed protocols and achieve medical continuity of care for the Patients.
- To provide advice to clinical, scientific and administration staff.
- To facilitate own training under the direction of the Medical Director, in accordance with General Medical Board requirements, best practice, and Riyadh Hospital Policies & Procedures and protocols.
- To take responsibility for CME and documentation of activity in support of revalidation.
- To comply with current laws, regulations, and accreditation standards such as MOH, SCFHS, SFDA, CBAHI, JCI, etc.
- To assure the credentials, privileges, and competencies of the subordinates.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Saudi Board Certified or equivalent is required;
- Experience not less than three years after obtaining the required qualification (Saudi Board or an equivalent) or minimum of 5 years if the credential is from the second category according to the SCFHS regulations. For subspecialties, the consultant should have been fulfilled the required training.
- Current Registration in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, as a consultant, is highly preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP, ALSO certification depending on the specialty is highly required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Profound knowledge of the relevant laws and regulation in Saudi Arabia.
- Commitment to the ethical code of the profession and the medical field.
- Good communication and people management skills.
- Leadership skills and emotional/ social intelligence.
