Job Description
- Assists in development of the short and long term mechanical maintenance strategy for the plant and the development of a capable engineering, planning and mechanical maintenance team to support that strategy.
- Abide with the O&M agreement with the Owner and the Contractual Services Agreement with Siemens.
- Ensure that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within the environmental, legal and contractual requirements.
- Assists to establish the appropriate procedures and computerized mechanical maintenance management processes as applicable to a prudent management regime.
- Assists to coordinate mechanical maintenance activities with finance and accounting, administration, HSE and operations departments.
- Assist in preparation, control, analysis and reporting on the yearly and long term budget and business plan for the operation dept. to the various stakeholders through reporting KPI's.
- Actions assigned from internal and external audits for Environment / Engineering / procedures pertaining to Mechanical engineering.
- Closely following Siemens QA/QC during outages, Extra works monitoring.
- Review and implement of SiemensTIL's and update the status. Review Siemens reports , derive action items and follow-up.
- Conducting site technical meetings along with Siemens CPM and site O&M team.
- Identifying the third party resources, which are suitable for outages support, thus cost reduction.
- Monitoring of GT performances and suggesting site team for proper action. Assist in the operations QA/QC / performance issues / root cause analysis program.
- Maintaining high standards of management ethics and leadership.
- Review, implement and monitor the mechanical maintenance Methods / Procedures.
- Continual improvement of systems and procedures based on experience.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources through good planning, record and communication.
- Ensure that the maintenance plan is in line with the requirements of the O&M agreement with the FPCC and the Contractual Services Agreement with Siemens.
- Works closely with inspection / overhaul contractors and supervise / provides them with all the necessary support.
Safety at Work
- Ensures a safe working environment for all the working parties whilst working on any equipment.
- Obtain a Permit to Work for each job as necessitated by the FOMC HSE Procedures put in place.
- Ensures all necessary risk assessment and precautions are taken by himself, the Mechanical Technicians and Contractors while undertaking any jobs in FOMC.
- Ensures that all tools required to work safely on the plant equipment are available.
- Monitors Mechanical Technicians and Contractors to ensure guidelines as per Safe Work Practices and HSE Standards are followed.
- Points out any unsafe conditions to Management.
Team Leadership
- Leads the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and ensures a high level of efficiency in the Team.
- Builds and sustains a committed, cohesive and dynamic Team.
- Acts as a Mentor for the Mechanical Team.

- Recommends the appropriate training for the Mechanical Technicians.
Maintenance Task Planning and Execution
- Ensures maintenance tasks are completed by the Technicians as per Work Orders generated in SAP.
- Ensures the reports on maintenance is done and documented in SAP.
- Generates reports as necessary once maintenance is completed.
- Plans for and ensures that maintenance of all mechanical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals and best industry practice for the equipment.
- Along with the Maintenance Manager, ensures mechanical equipment maintenance planning is correctly scheduled so that all equipment is maintained as per OEM recommended intervals.
- Reviews Mechanical Maintenance Procedures and suggests where they can improve.
Equipment Failure Troubleshooting and Repair
- Supports reliable and accessible 24-hour engineering call-out functionality.
- Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high plant availability.
- Performs trouble shooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies defects found.
- Records and reports to the Maintenance Manager all rectification jobs undertaken.
- Generates reports of equipment failures.
- Performs Root Cause Analysis of Failures.
- Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with mechanical plant equipment.
Reporting, Overall Planning and Budgeting
- Discusses planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with the Engineering Manager.
- Works with the Maintenance Manager for outage planning and execution.
- Assists the Engineering Manager in planning and budget preparation processes.
Spares, Consumables & Tools
- Ensures adequate inventories of spares and consumables are maintained.
- Places requisitions for purchase of required spares and consumables.
- Ensures necessary tooling is available to all Technicians.
- Ensures Third Party Certification of all tools is done on an annual basis or as required.
- Ensures all tools are maintained and are in good working condition.
Ownership
- Assumes ownership of plant mechanical equipment and strives to maintain them in the best possible condition.
- Delivers Technical Advice to Enable Efficient Maintenance of Mechanical Equipment and Continuous Improvement.
- Delivers technical advice to colleagues and Contractors to ensure safety and the proper execution of Plant Maintenance Practices.
- Applies engineering knowledge and skills to review and update task lists for equipment. Implements initiatives to address inconsistencies in SAP scheduling, practices and documentation.
- Train and Develop Mechanical Technicians to Build the Workforce's Technical Capability and to Deliver a Step Up in Plant Performance.
- Coaches Mechanical Technicians on mechanical equipment, Safe Work Procedures and Operational Techniques to ensure proper execution of Plant Routines.
- Prepares and delivers Technical Training, including modules on Alignment Techniques, valves, pump repairs, compressors, dryers, HRSG component inspections and BOP plant equipment.

- At least 8 year experience in the Gas Turbine maintenance of a large combined cycle power plant / cogeneration power plant of 9Fa/7Fa & 7Ea units, 3 of which must have been in the capacity of Mechanical Engineer.
- Hands on experience of Siemens design heavy duty gas turbine frame 9Fa/7Fa and 7Ea units with minimum exposer of 6 HGPI and 3 major outages .
- Exposer on alignments related to Siemens design Heavy duty Gas turbine and Generator.

- GE Gas turbine with auxiliaries and HRSG maintenance experience (Optional) with outage planning and scheduling skill.

Key Responsibilities:As the successful candidate you will be require to perform the following:
- Facilitate the execution of UR Maintain Potential Facilities from the review and development of scope to commissioning of the facilities and performing post-completion analysis.
- Coordinate the review of the content of scope from the company Technical and Financial documents.
- Coordinate the preparation of the estimates for the Gas Well Tie Ins and related facilities and assure that the estimates have the required accuracy.
