Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Civil Engineering Technician located in Riyadh. The Civil Engineering Technician will support civil engineers in the planning, design, and oversight of construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include conducting land surveys, preparing civil engineering designs, using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations. Additionally, the technician will assist with data collection and analysis, coordinate with construction teams, and communicate project details to stakeholders.

As the Roads and Transport manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the design, review and development of various projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for managing specific design and review processes during the various stages from conceptualization to execution, while adhering to client requirements and company standards. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for efficiency and innovation. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with QA/QC procedures, including the deliverables review QA/QC process.

• Lead the entire design process for roads and transportation infrastructure managing the entire design and construction process from start to finish.
• Collaborate closely with our internal teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders to fully understand project requirements and create innovative design solutions that satisfy client requirements and fully satisfies local codes and standards.
• Ensure smooth coordination with consultants, making sure they adhere to project timelines and meet our clients high-quality standards.
• Conduct regular design review meetings where you will provide technical guidance and support to our clients, consultants, contractors and team members.
• Proactively monitor and track project progress, promptly identify and resolve any design-related challenges or conflicts that may arise and report timeously on these.
• Efficiently manage and maintain meticulous project documentation, including design records, change orders, and necessary approvals.
• Maintain strict compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations to guarantee the success of each project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and integration of various design elements to achieve seamless progression from design, construction to final handover.
• Compilation and presentation of reports and visual presentations regarding designs, design reviews, cost analysis and progress on project tasks.
• Setup and chair meetings with the client, consultants, design team and stakeholders whilst capturing minutes of meetings as necessary.
• Comply with client's governance requirements.
• Oversee and manage all project interfaces within the delivery program.
• Prepare and present design reports, presentations, and recommendations to stakeholders

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in civil engineering is necessary.
• An engineering master’s degree is desirable.
• Registration as a chartered civil engineer is necessary (or similar).
• Must have a minimum of 10-years roads and transportation engineering experience in design, detailed reviews, documentation and specifications, project management and staff coordination.
• Experience in the design of roads and highways infrastructure involving geometric design, pavement layer design and traffic engineering.
• Experience in underground civil utilities will be an advantage.
• Experience in construction oversight of roads and transportation infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• Design experience in Dry utilities is an advantage.
• Experience in construction oversight involving the infrastructure described above.
• Proficiency in using engineering design software and related tools is necessary.

Description
The Facilities Supervisor – Maintenance, will have a significant impact on customer experience. The Supervisor will have the ability to lead other technicians, design solutions for challenging problems, manage outside contractors, be on call for emergencies, to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet time lines.

The Supervisor will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals and will be responsible for the leadership/development and coaching of the team through Performance Management.

This role also leads the technical team in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Amazon Facility.

The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.

Key job responsibilities

• Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
• React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected stakeholders and work efficiently to fix the issue.
• Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
• Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
• Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical/Industrial/Electronics/Automation/Control Systems
• Experience of 1 to 2 years of conveyors/automation/control systems maintenance
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Experience fault finding within MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems.
• Experience in interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Auto-CAD drawing
• Experience of sortation machines
• Experience in troubleshooting through PLC
• Understanding of sustainability concepts, such as energy-saving initiatives, waste management, and best facility practices.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fire system, electrical, and mechanical systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in high-volume warehouse environment and respond promptly to breakdowns.
