Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on underground mining equipment including:
• Caterpillar Underground Trucks & R1600 Loaders
• Toyota 79 Series Land Cruisers
• Conduct inspections and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out according to OEM standards and safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Support component rebuilds such as rock drills, cylinders, hydraulic motors, and turning devices.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems on underground drill rigs (e.g., Sandvik DD320, Epiroc S7D).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• OEM training with Caterpillar, Sandvik, Epiroc, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in underground mining equipment maintenance.
• Willingness to work on a rotational shift/remote site format.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diagnostics, and repairs (advantage).
• Experience in component rebuilds (advantage).
• High regard for safety and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently in challenging underground environments.
• Team player with good communication and reporting skills.

A Typical Work Day May Include:

• Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility

• Documenting all completed work and the conditions found; utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary

• Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various components and systems including heavy mobile equipment, hydraulic systems, 12 & 24V mobile electrical systems, belt conveyors, gear reducers, and bearings

• Operating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, electric tools, etc.

• Comprehending mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals

• Operating forklifts

• Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures

• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

• Ability to repair equipment in close proximity to explosives

• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

• Must be 18 years or older

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

• Minimum of one year of experience with industrial electrical knowledge and mechanical maintenance trades

• Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

• Ability and willingness to work underground in a mining environment

• Must receive a passing score on a Standardized Ramsay Test in order to be selected for an interview

What Will Put You Ahead:

• Must possess journeyman certificate, a state certificate, or a degree in the field of electrical with experience repairing and troubleshooting electrical systems

• Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) or willing to acquire certification

• Heavy equipment/industrial maintenance technical diploma from a trade school, or 3 years equivalent experience

• Predictive Maintenance and/or Precision Maintenance Certifications

• High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining various components and systems such as but not limited to packaging equipment, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, belt or roller conveyors, pumps, gear reducers, or bearings

• KBR is looking for an Area Superintendent - Maintenance Head to ensure that daily refinery maintenance activities—including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance for mechanical, I/E, and rotating equipment—are carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards to ensure sector availability, reliability, and operational continuity.

• Assists the Superintendent by providing input to identify key success factors, procurement timelines, and establishing common work breakdown structures.

• Provides leadership to create the organizational structure and processes required to fully execute service requirements and is responsible for equipment services, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction costs.

• Evaluates equipment service execution for compliance with contracts, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risks, and cost factors affecting the scope.

• Owns the equipment craft schedule and develops short-term look-ahead schedules for the Foreman aligned with the execution plan.

• Reviews and monitors costs and man-hours for the installation process and develops a staff, facilities, equipment, and tool requirement plan.

• Requires at least 5 years of experience in the building construction industry with extensive experience in related craft.

• Handles dispatching equipment according to approved PTW and support from the Support Services Superintendent based on urgent requests from areas.

• Checks the Daily Checklist Report submitted by equipment operators for any issues with the equipment.

• Ensures proper utilization and handling of all heavy equipment, including cranes, forklifts, manlifts, vacuum trucks, and boom trucks, and verifies their conditions before use on-site.

• Monitors job status as per PTW and ensures equipment requests are closed within the designated timeframe.
