Job Description:

Responsible for ensuring a sound and safe environment in Care National Hospital that would contribute in providing a good quality of health care to the patient, safe premises for the visitors, and good working and housing environment for the staff.

Responsible for ensuring a proper implementation of all policies & procedures concerning Environmental Health, Risk Management and Safety.

Responsible to coordinate with all concerned departments to ensure they follow the approved policies procedures established based on international standards.

To ensure the safety of all staff members of Operations Services Department while performing their duties.

Responsible for the Medical Waste Management Program in line with laws and regulations set by concerned national authorities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure through his action, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Care Hospital
  • Ensure proper planning, organizing and implementing hospital risk management program.
  • Review risk management reports and share the information with the appropriate sections.
  • Review the critical events reports with Q.I Director & determine appropriate steps to be initiated for the prevention of the critical event after studying the root causes analysis.
  • Analyze the information collected through the risk identification process and share with the appropriate clinical / administrative committees.
  • Plan and manage through coordination with concerned staff and section heads the six areas related to Facility Management and Safety:
  • Safety and Security
  • Safety: the degree to which the hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment do not pose a hazard or risk to patients, staff, or visitors
  • Security: protection from loss, destruction, tampering, or unauthorized access or use.
  • Hazardous materials: Handling, storage, and use of radioactive and other materials are controlled, and hazardous waste is safely disposed.
  • Emergency management: Response to epidemics, disasters, and emergencies is planned and effective.
  • Fire Safety: Property and occupants are protected from fire and smoke.
  • Medical equipment: Equipment is selected, maintained, and used in a manner to reduce risks.
  • Utility Systems: Electrical, water, and other utility systems are maintained to minimize the risks of operating failures.
  • Has the authority to intervene in/stop any process/activity that poses or may pose a hazard or potential risk that may cause unsafe action and/or condition and formulate necessary measure for correction.
  • Coordinate with infection control officer to fulfill the guidelines of the environmental infection control
  • Ensure efficient use of energy, water sanitation & conservation, and controlled air emissions.
  • To give in-service training regarding environmental health, safety and risk management issues.
  • To ensure the cleaning disinfection and decontamination process are maintained following the approved procedures.
  • To ensure that in-service training is offered to concerned staff for the proper procedures and techniques.
  • To ensure that continuing education through monthly in-service training is offered to all concerned members to update them on the changes in technology and the latest advance in procedures based on international standards.
  • To make a written report to the Director of Operations Services for non-compliances and monthly achievements and action plans.
  • To make monthly reports highlighting the environmental health, risk management and safety indicators, investigate the root cause analysis for any non compliance and propose the necessary action plan (Performance Improvement Initiative).
  • Any difficulty in the execution of the assigned work shall be brought immediately to the attention of the Director of Operations Services.

Qualifications:

Education:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health or Equivalent

Good scholastic Records / master's degree

Experience:

Required

  • 2 years’ experience Hospital/similar post
  • Experience in hospital facility is preferred.
  • Any other experience in the field is taken into consideration

  • Ability to communicate in English and in Arabic languages.
  • Computer literacy excellent in Microsoft Office & Power Point software.
  • Good and strong leadership ability.

Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities will include:

  • Retain active involvement in periodic reviews and assisting in setting EHS objectives and targets.
  • Ensure that new employees receive all OHS trainings related to their specific tasks. Report to senior management and sector regulatory authority on the OHSMS performance.
  • Ensure the Legal requirements are updated, communicated, and implemented throughout the property.

Job Summary:

Euro Group For Engineering Consultancy seeking a passionate and experienced Solid Waste Management Planner/Strategist to play a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring strategic plans, policies, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for integrated solid waste management within the Amana (Municipality) of Taif. In this role, you will ensure alignment with national environmental objectives, address the specific waste management challenges and priorities of the Taif region, and incorporate global best practices in sustainability. A key function is the effective collection, analysis, and interpretation of solid waste management data specific to Taif to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement. You will lead the development of strategic plans that align with national environmental objectives and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored for the unique operational context of the Taif Municipality.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research, collect and analyze data from diverse sources (e.g., solid waste composition studies specific to Taif, recycling rates, landfill capacity, and environmental monitoring data related to solid waste within the Taif region), and perform rigorous needs assessments to identify solid waste management challenges, emerging trends, and opportunities for improvementwithin the Taif Municipality.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive and innovative solid waste management strategies and action plans specifically tailored for the Amana of Taif, incorporating solid waste reduction, reuse, recycling, treatment, resource recovery, and environmentally sound disposal methods.
  • Define and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets to track the effectiveness of solid waste management initiatives within the Amana of Taif, develop data collection methodologies to ensure accurate and reliable data, measure progress towards strategic goals in the area of solid waste.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and effective solid waste management practicesacross all relevant departments and operations of the Taif Municipality.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments within the Amana of Taif, as well as external government agencies, private sector partners, community organizations, and international experts to ensure effective plan implementation, knowledge sharing, and alignment of strategic initiatives related to solid wastewithin the Taif region.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs, analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations related to solid waste generation, collection, and processing within Taif, conduct rigorous evaluations of plan effectiveness, identify areas for optimization, and recommend data-driven adjustments to strategies and targets in solid waste managementfor the Taif Municipality.
  • Ensure that all solid waste management activities within the Amana of Taif comply with environmental regulations, permits, and best practices, promoting environmental stewardship and minimizing negative impacts on the Taif region.
  • Develop communication strategies to promote awareness of solid waste management initiatives within the Amana of Taif and to encourage community engagement and participationamong Taif residents and businesses.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and policy recommendations for senior management within the Amana of Taif, as well as external stakeholders, related to solid waste.
  • Analyze diverse data to drive strategic decision-making and optimize solid waste management practices within the context of the Taif Municipality.
  • Act as a key player in promoting a culture of sustainability and solid waste reduction throughout the Amana of Taif and within the broader Taif community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Urban Planning, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field,with a focus on solid waste management and familiarity with the environmental context of Saudi Arabia.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in strategic solid waste management planning, policy development, and project managementwithin a municipal or regional context.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement KPIs and track performance metrics in solid waste management.
  • Experience developing and implementing SOPs in solid waste management.
  • Expertise in data analysis techniques, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) relevant to solid waste dataspecific to urban environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills specifically applied to solid waste challengesfaced by municipalities.
