The successful applicant will be a part of our Middle East team, supporting clients in Saudi Arabia and across the region as part of our broader EMEA team of over 100 crisis and security consultants.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking fee earning consultancy, including built environment security consulting, security master planning, security risk assessments, security policy and planning consultancy, benchmarking and maturity assessments, security risk workshops, and applying relevant built environment risk management knowledge, tools, standards, and processes
  • Contribution to built environment security and risk consulting projects in the region to ensure compliance with Control Risks policies, standards, and methodologies as well as drawing on international leading practices

Requirements include:

The Role Purpose:

The General Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) will oversee all aspects of HSE across the organization, including marine and land-based operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing all HSE-related matters, such as strategy and infrastructure, compliance with local and international standards, training and building a strong culture of safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency. The General Director will also provide continuous advice and support to staff to ensure all health and safety obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy and infrastructure, aligned with national legal obligations, international best practices, and ISO standards.
  • Create comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies that address both fieldwork activities, especially diving, and office safety protocols.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will help conduct environmental engineering studies, prepare impact reports for new construction projects, evaluate proposed regulations, and develop procedures. You will conduct routine investigations, compile and analyze data, and maintain technical records. Your collaboration efforts and application of environmental engineering principles and techniques will contribute to project success.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance in managing the environmental assessment studies for Ras-Al-Khair Industrial City including:
  • Formulation of the scope and management the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and deliverables.
  • Managing the development of the environmental management program for the two cities, and assisting the Royal Commission in the implementation of the program.

Candidate shall be assigned to an integrated Environmental team that services KSA and the Middle East.

Alpin Limited is a multidisciplinary sustainable cleantech consultancy based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Alpin is a fully-owned subsidiary of Setec, based out of Paris, France.

The local team is composed of a diverse range of experts who lead their respective fields, including LEED APs, PQPs, MOSTADAM APs, Mostadam trainers, commissioning authorities (CxA), construction managers, MBA’s, and building physics PHD’s.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to set strategic goals for environmental activity in KSA;
  • Ensure that environmental business objectives are met efficiently and effectively;
  • Develop and implement department organisation, procedures, policies, and management procedures for environmental Services in KSA;
  • Maintain good working relationships with Setec group specialized companies to ensure effective co-ordination for environmental business in KSA;
  • Direct and oversee environmental staff in KSA to ensure that they are motivated and trained, and that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard;
  • Anticipate the vacancies and management of the departures/replacements;
  • Capitalize the best practices and liaise with Setec entities in France for global capitalization;
  • General monitoring of environmental operations in KSA, reporting & dashboards;
  • Manage and forecast budget needs and requests for the department; and
  • Management of contracts and (if any) and sub-consultant’s agreements

HSE Roles, Responsibilities and Accountability:

  • In addition to your responsibility towards following ALPIN’s Integrated Management System, every employee at ALPIN is required to familiarize themselves with ALPIN’s Environmental Impact Assessment and contribute towards minimizing their individual environmental impact in the course of their work.
  • It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the Company’s Quality, Environment and Health & Safety policies. All employees must familiarize themselves with the Company’s Integrated Management System’s policies and procedures

Skills and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Biology or Science;
  • Environmental Engineering background with preferably more than 15 years of experience, with a part of that experience in the Middle East;
  • Excellent written & spoken English;
  • Written and Spoken Arabic is a plus;
  • Written and Spoken French is a plus;
  • Presentation and Communication skills;
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with history of taking initiative to solve problems;
  • Ability to work multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of follow through and communication with key stakeholders;
  • Dedication to completing projects on time and within budget;
  • Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, and problem solving skills;
  • Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills;
  • Ability to maintain organized, detailed and accurate project records;
  • High degree of professionalism with an ability to interact with others at all levels;

  • In-depth knowledge of global sustainability reporting standards including GRI, TCFD, SASB, BRSR, IFRS, SBTi, and double materiality assessments.

  • Ability to produce comprehensive sector-specific reports that link ESG indicators to operational and financial performance.

  • Hands-on experience in incorporating ESG assessments across supply chains , including tier 1, 2, and 3 supplier evaluations .

  • Conduct ESG research and analytics across sectors such as power, manufacturing, oil & gas, automotive, metals & mining, cement, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals .

Ideal Candidate Profile

To succeed in this Associate Director – ESG & Sustainability role, you should have:

  • A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or Business Management .

  • Over 10 years of experience , primarily in ESG consulting or sustainability-focused roles.

  • Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, industry trends, and regulatory landscapes.
