**What You'll Be Doing**:
- Provides technical guidance to personnel within the Section.
- Provides technical advice to other RC and SAPL Departments.
- Represents the Section at the project and inter-sectional meetings, as appropriate.
- Prepares/Reviews Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts.
- Provides technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences.
- Reviews A/E contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculations submittals and coordinates with the work of other disciplines.
- Prepares written summary of review comments in Engineering Review Comments (ERC) sheets.
- Reviews vendor/ shop drawings, and construction materials submittals.
- Performs field inspections and provides professional field support as necessary during construction phases.
- Prepares interface layouts and conflicts solutions.
- Prepares / Reviews man-hour estimates for design fee proposals.
- Prepares technical correspondence, reports, and studies.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:
- A recognized university degree in Civil Engineering with 10+ years. Design experience in general civil works is essential.
- Professional registration in the appropriate discipline is desirable.
- The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
- A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management.
**What Desired Skills You'll Bring**:
- Must be knowledgeable with the standards of civil work.
- Conversant and has working knowledge of Industry Standard software in CE design

- Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project.
- Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
If assigned to a major program, manages all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program.
- Coordinates all discipline staffing requirements for the program.
- Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied.

- Actively participates in and promotes the Quality Improvement Program.
- May head a committee within the discipline, striving to motivate and educate the assigned personnel.
