General Description
The Quality Specialist ensures that all engineering project activities comply with contractual requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. This role involves monitoring construction/engineering processes, conducting inspections, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes safely, on time, and within scope.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
- Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- Professional certification in quality management (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or CQE) is an advantage.
- Proven experience in quality assurance/quality control within engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of international standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management/quality management software.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans for engineering projects.
- Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction activities to ensure adherence to specifications, standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, ASTM), and client requirements.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and site visits to verify compliance with design drawings, codes, and safety regulations.
- Review engineering documents, materials, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications.
- Identify non-conformities, issue reports, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support project teams in applying risk management practices to minimize quality and safety issues.
- Maintain project quality records, test results, and audit reports for compliance and future reference.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Provide training and guidance to project staff on quality standards and procedures.
- Continuously monitor and recommend improvements in engineering project processes and methodologies.
