Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, and planning activities of maintenance department personnel.

Role Purpose:

Lead team of application and automation engineers for Low and Medium voltage switchgears. Deliver the documents for submittals, Manufacturing covering all design aspects on time. Work on solutions considering value engineering, with eye on available material to use for projects and within project specifications as well as international standards. Knowledge of setting up engineering offices and best practices are advantages which can help to optimize the usage of resources. Attend meeting with industrial, Oil and Gas as well utility and infrastructure customers to clarify and propose technical solutions in the project. Manage product localization and existing product databases. Carry out lessons learned exercise, Mentor and coach the team.

Key Activities:

On-time Submittals

1. Oversee detailed engineering of all projects awarded and ensure engineering schedules are maintained.
2. Monitor and analyze the delayed activities, identify the root cause, decide and implement corrective action in coordination with design and standardization teams

Quality of Submittals

1. Ensure equipment is designed according to customer specifications and pertinent industrial standards.
2. Responsible for conducting design reviews to ensure compliance, optimized cost and manufacturing efficiency.
3. Monitor and analyze the sources of engineering errors, identify the root cause, decide and implement corrective action in coordination with design and standardization teams

Efficiency

1. Ensuring that all the engineering activities (project and development activities) are completed within the budgeted man-hours.
2. To lead and maintain the “fast track” approach through the complete industrial cycle to ensure best efficiency and eliminate waste.

Profitability

1. To optimize the component selection for the projects to ensure compliance to the project requirements while maintaining the best possible profitability.
2. Make necessary analysis for incidents of low profitability and recommend corrective actions.

Customer Satisfaction

1. Ensure that all the customer clarifications and questions are answered on timely manner.
2. Ensure that all the customer comments in all similar applications are implemented in pre-engineered modules or highlighted in design checklists

People Development

1. Responsible for ensuring all direct reports are properly trained and display competency.
2. Provide technical training for different teams in other departments when required for new comers or old employees.
3. Conduct periodic official performance appraisal for all the engineering team.
4. Provide continuous feedback and coaching for team members.

Product Management and Development

1. Manage the industrial files of all products, and ensure that all updates from the core units are implemented and integrated.
2. Coordinate with the industrial teams to identify required product enhancements to optimize the industrial cycle, like pre-wiring solutions, pan and cutout standardization, . . .
3. Coordinate with the commercial team to identify required product enhancements to improve the product competitiveness in the market.
4. Manage the product development/enhancement projects starting from the design stage, till the implementation to all departments and integration into the industrial files

New Product Launching

1. Manage the internal implementation of new products
2. Study the new products and localization scope to identify the required budget and plan for internal implementation.
3. Identify and allocate the required additional engineering, software and hardware resources and investments required to handle the new product launching in view of the existing project and development needs.
4. Build and manage the technical infra-structure of drawings, tools, libraries, and internal processes & forms necessary for the proper industrialization of the new product range
5. Provide product guidance and recommendations to the production department to identify the optimum sequence of assembly of new products to minimize the assembly time & cost
6. Provide recommendations to the QC department for the critical points for in-process inspection.
7. Create necessary costing tools as requested, to support the commercial team for cost effective and competitive pricing

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Electrical or Electronics)
• 10+ years of experience in Low and Medium Voltage Switchgear Engineering

GENERAL ROLE :

As Engineering Manager at Miraval The Red Sea, your main role is assisting and supporting the Director of Engineering in managing the engineering department. Takes responsibility in overseeing the repair and preventative maintenance of all M&E services through the involvement of all subordinates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• To develop and implement cost reduction, work simplification methods and techniques and improvement programmes.
• Direct involvement with control and supervise over contractors working in the hotel.
• Liaise with contractors, architects, consultants and other professionals on hotel projects.
• Attend weekly engineering meetings with Director of Engineering.
• Conduct briefing and engineering procedures to trainees on cross-exposure training.
• Conduct daily briefing with all engineering staff.
• Prepare monthly report for utilities consumption and energy consumption.
• Implement, deliver and monitor engineering core standards.
• Carry out routine hotel walkabout inspection – kitchen, public area, rooms, etc.
• Conduct regular fire alarm testing and ensure fire fighting and protection system in the hotel is well maintain and working at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Degree in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC engineering from a locally recognized Institute.
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
• Must be service oriented and be able to maintain Hyatt standard of hospitality at all times
• Must be able and willing to perform extra hours when required.
• Must have 2-3 experience as an Engineering Manager/ Chief Engineer in the hotel industry.

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, and planning activities of maintenance department personnel.
• Participate in employee performance reviews.
• Ensure effective preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
• Plan and implement procedures, systems, and controls for an efficient maintenance department.
• Supervise personnel in carrying out work schedules and verify quality and performance.
• Maintain logs on stock movement and tools.
• Maintain par stocks and distribute items.
• Ensure timely and accurate logging of sub meter, chemical treatment, and engine room data.
• Handle purchasing of equipment parts and repairs, including vendor contact, purchase orders, and receiving.
• Ensure proper execution of work orders and follow-up on logbook items.
• Develop and update departmental policies and manuals.
• Monitor meter readings on heat, light, and power daily and review consumption.
• Compile monthly energy consumption reports.
• Set up fire safety systems, valve locations, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain effective communication and good relations with other hotel departments.
• Inspect all hotel areas regularly.
• Ensure maintenance personnel are in uniform and well-groomed.
• Complete responsibilities timely.
• Assist in developing energy conservation programs to meet budget targets.
• Prepare requisitions and liaise with the Director of Engineering.
• Conduct oneself professionally to reflect hotel standards and encourage staff to do the same.
• Maintain good relationships with employees, providing instruction and encouragement.
• Keep work areas clean, neat, and organized.
• Participate in required meetings.
• Respond appropriately to hotel emergencies and safety situations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
