As the successful candidate, your key responsibilities will include:
Technology Evaluation: Analyze emerging technologies in CCUS, renewable energy, and hydrogen, identifying trends, opportunities, and adoption challenges within the context of Saudi Arabia and the broader region.
Energy Transition Analysis: Provide in-depth insights into the role of CCUS and hydrogen in both global and regional energy transitions, considering market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and alignment with Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals.
Strategic Consulting: Develop and implement actionable strategies that enable clients and stakeholders to integrate CCUS, renewable, and hydrogen solutions into their energy portfolios, while taking regional market conditions and priorities into account.
Market Monitoring: Track regional and global developments in CCUS and hydrogen technologies, including investments, infrastructure projects, and policy changes. Prepare forecasts and scenarios specific to Saudi Arabia’s energy transition landscape.
Sustainability Integration: Evaluate the environmental and economic impact of CCUS, renewable, and hydrogen projects in Saudi Arabia and the region, and provide recommendations to optimize resource usage and achieve decarbonization goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with industry professionals, engineers, policymakers, and clients to deliver insights and ensure alignment with strategic goals within Saudi Arabia and the region.
Mentorship: Guide junior analysts in developing expertise in sustainable energy, particularly focusing on the regional energy ecosystem.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Engineering. A master’s degree in Energy Economics, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
At least 12 years of experience in energy analysis, particularly in CCUS, renewable energy, and hydrogen, with a strong understanding of the regional market in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
A comprehensive understanding of the technical and economic aspects of the CCUS, renewable energy, and hydrogen value chains in both regional and global markets.
Proven experience in conducting market and technology assessments, providing actionable insights aligned with Saudi energy policies and frameworks.
Familiarity with regional energy transition frameworks, global policies, and sustainability standards.

Position Overview
Kawar Energy is seeking a qualified Energy Engineer to support the expansion of its Energy Management Services division. The role focuses on leading energy audits in alignment with ASHRAE standards levels I, II & III. The candidate should possess strong knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing energy efficiency solutions for both commercial and industrial facilities, including tasks such as market assessment, proposal development, and detailed technical evaluations.
The selected engineer will also be responsible for understanding and supporting Measurement and Verification (M&V) processes and for developing energy-saving solutions grounded in robust scientific and engineering principles. The role includes preparing comprehensive technical reports detailing findings, issues, and progress for submission to the direct supervisor.
- Conduct energy studies in accordance with ASHRAE standards.
- Develop technical & commercial proposals for potential clients.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing plans for energy efficiency offerings.
- Perform data collection, processing, and analysis for preliminary energy studies of commercial and industrial facilities.
- Develop and implement M&V plans for energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) projects at various facilities.
- Calculate savings and performance analysis based on scientific and engineering principles, reporting findings and presenting to customers.
- Inspect and measure the implemented energy management solutions to ensure proper installation and commissioning.
- Support Measurement & Verification plans as per international guidelines (IPMVP).
Requirements
