We are looking for talented, energetic, and outgoing engineers to work in a rapidly growing field where you will have the opportunity to deliver state-of-the-art Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) to some of the most exciting electric utilities around the world. You will be involved in designing, building, configuring, testing, and delivering these systems while working closely with other driven engineers and with our customers. Specifically, you’ll work on Outage Management System (OMS) that spans the electric utility’s operational and information technology domains; you will build systems that improve the efficiency of the utility’s grid operations and capture information and data to support their business functions. These systems will expand the utility’s Smart Grid capabilities by providing detailed insight into the operations of the electrical grid, from power generation to customer delivery. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of the electrical grid, reducing environmental impacts through the conservation of crucial resources. You will report to an ADMS Delivery Lead or Manager.

• Develop and execute system build plans considering software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
• Work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide system training, and configure solutions to meet their requirements.
• Lead workshops with customers.
• Perform system and acceptance testing with end customers.
• Develop scripts and middleware solutions to integrate third-party systems.

We are seeking a Power System Developer to contribute to our industry-leading DMS suite, which assists distribution utilities in real-time monitoring, visualization, control, and optimization of distribution grids. As a member of an Agile development team, you will design and implement advanced applications to help utility customers improve grid reliability and efficiency, and better integrate renewable energy sources.

• Model and simulate steady-state and dynamic behavior of distribution system equipment such as transformers, cables/lines, generators, and relays.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain DMS products like distribution power flow, state estimation, fault restoration, etc.
• Research, develop, and implement advanced optimization solutions, such as volt-var optimization and optimal power flow, to control distributed energy resources (DER) and virtual power plants (VPP).

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field. A PhD with emphasis on Power Systems is preferred.
• Understanding of power systems concepts, including distribution modeling, protection, coordination, DER integration, and control.
• Experience with power flow calculation, state estimation, DER control, and network optimization.
• Proficiency with power systems simulation tools such as MATLAB, PSCAD, and PSSE.
• Programming skills in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or C#.
• Experience with data analytics and AI is preferred, with the ability to apply these to power system analysis and optimization.

The salary range for this role is $94,700 - $118,400. This range reflects our good-faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience and location. Digital Grid Management (DGM)'s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) is a rapidly growing area within our organization that enables electric distribution utilities to monitor, manage, control, and optimize the grid. As a Power Systems Engineer in DMS, you will be involved in delivering systems to our customers, engaging with them to design, build, configure, troubleshoot, and test deployments. This role provides broad exposure to the entire ADMS, focusing on advanced applications such as Distribution Power Flow (DPF), Fault Location, Isolation & Service Restoration (FLISR), and Volt/VAR Control & Optimization (VVC/VVO). You will be a primary contact throughout and after project delivery, collaborating with other application engineers, architecture teams, and software development groups. You will report to an ADMS Delivery Lead or Manager.

• Provide technical leadership and act as the face of AspenTech DGM for ADMS projects.
• Implement control systems at electric utilities to enhance grid operation efficiency while meeting contract requirements.

DGM's Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) is a high-growth area that enables electric distribution utilities to monitor, manage, control, and optimize the grid. As an Intermediate ADMS Project Consultant, you will be involved in all aspects of delivering systems to our customers. You will leverage your experience with utility operations, ADMS systems, and business processes to lead and advise utility clients during ADMS implementation. You will be a trusted advisor, engaging with all levels of the utility from field crews to executive management. You will collaborate with DGM's teams, including ADMS Application Engineers, Architecture and Product Solution teams, and Software Development. Your insights will influence the future direction of ADMS products and serve as the 'voice for the utility' within DGM. This role reports to the Manager, ADMS Project Consulting.

1. Lead ADMS business process reviews to understand current ('As-Is') and future ('To-Be') process mappings.
2. Conduct contractual requirements analysis on ADMS projects to identify potential concerns.

4. Promote the importance of project change management to build knowledge and support within ADMS projects.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
