As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop Environmental Health and Safety & food safety manuals and review annually or as required.

You should be a college/university degree graduate preferably in Health / Hygiene / Quality Management with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role with preferable experience in the Middle East. You must be computer literate with effective communication skills in English and Arabic.

Maintenance & Operations

• Maintain liaisons with government and statutory bodies; manage consents, permits, and regulatory returns.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

IGC NEBOSH or IOSH or Qualified EMS & OHSAS Internal Auditor.

• HSE Responsibilities:

• Ensure the implementation of the Company EHS Policy for the prevention of injury, damage or loss to Company personnel and resources.
• Adhere to the risk assessment controls identified.
• Not interfere or misuse any equipment supplied.
• Maintain equipment supplied for carrying out work tasks including daily maintenance where appropriate.
• Be the custodian of and responsible for the development and maintenance of the EHS Management Systems including auditing and reporting on performance to the Senior Management Teams.
• Be responsible for EHS policy & standards formulation, development and implementation.
• Ensure the continued implementation of a Companywide EHS management system.
• Ensure the compatibility of EHS systems and objectives with the business objectives and ensure that there is a harmonization of EHS objectives with broader business objectives.
• Ensure the promotion of a positive health and safety culture, and establishment of EHS risk control strategies and requirements.
• Ensure the planning for EHS continual improvement including the setting of short and long term objectives, deciding priorities and establishing adequate performance standards.
• Ensure the monitoring, reviewing and provision of feedback on the policy, plans and management system.
• Ensure the auditing of the EHS system and performance to ensure legal compliance and company policy.
• Custodian of the Work co-ordinator role. Ensure training has been provided to Management and the leaders of the Injury Management procedure. Duties include the duty assignment along with the return to work assessment being conducted.
• Use personal protective equipment supplied in accordance with site risk assessments and site rules.
• Attend any suitable training to ensure that they are competent to perform their duties safely.
• Comply with any rules specific to a particular site and any Company wide health, safety or environmental requirements.
• Report any injuries, unsafe acts or conditions to line managers.
• Support EHS policy to help deliver cultural development and sustained continual improvement in EHS performance.
