Our client is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, and they are recruiting an EHS Manager to join the team located in Riyadh – KSA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supporting, maintaining, and updating the asset management system and procedures including implementing strategies, writing documentation and guidance, and maintaining a database to ensure the best overall life cycle costs to support the operations.

Key Tasks:

1. Develop and issue Safety Management System supported by regional documents according to quality.
2. Audit the effectiveness of the Safety Management System and report issues to top management.
3. Improve and modify Safety Management System to protect the organization against litigation and prosecution.
4. Follow recent developments in the legislation and advise the company on compliance.
5. Create country-wide resource basis for legal advice on all Health & Safety and Environmental matters.
6. Act as the prime contact to the Health, Safety & Environmental authorities, maintain and foster good relations with the authorities.
7. Develop programmes and coach regional trainers for Preventive Programmes.
8. Liaise with insurers for all company liability claims, property protection etc.
9. Cooperate with the regional purchasing team to identify opportunities for cost savings related to EHS matters.
10. Organise and implement a standardised personal protective programme to ensure correct standard personal protective equipment is provided at an acceptable cost.
11. Conduct Health & Safety Compliance Audits in accordance with the regional quality instructions and communicate audit results to management.
12. Provide service to the local coordinators in the accounts by performing relatively simple “in-house” statutory required measurements at no cost (noise measurements, infrared thermographic surveys, etc.).
13. Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
14. Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls.

Role Summary:

You are responsible for supervising field personnel, administering good construction safety practices and communicating effectively with all on-site activities ensuring that all our operations run smoothly and well-organized. You will deal with various construction activities and maintain good communication with supervision and project management teams.

What you will need to do:

• Prepare environmental related project plans and documents (e.g. CEMP specialized sub plans), risk assessments, incident reports, inspection reports, Client weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, internal monthly reports etc.
• Coordinate with third party consultants for implementing the environmental monitoring of the project as well as organizing environmental monitoring that can be done in house.
• Performregular inspections, and audits etc. to identify compliance including recommendations for corrective or preventive action where appropriate.
• Coordinate with the Client forall relevant environmental requirements of the project.

What you will need to have:

• A formal Tertiary Education (University/College) qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or an Environmental related subject
• Minimum 7-10 years’ total experience in construction projects with at least 2 years as an Environmental Manager.
• Marine construction experience is essential (i.e. causeways, breakwaters, etc.)
• Ecology background (either as part of his studies or as part of his previous experience) is a must.
• Strong experience in preparingenvironmental related project plans and documents (e.g. CEMP specialized subplans), risk assessments etc.
• Familiarization with specialized environmental monitoring programs (e.g. sea water and sediment quality, surveys on corals, seagrasses, mangroves, migratory birds, turtles, marine mammals, real time water monitoring stations etc.)
• Experience in performing regular environmentalinspections and audits.
• Previous KSA experience is preferred
