The Role
Role Summary: The Design Project Manager will oversee the design and tender stages of major building projects, from initial concept through to the preparation and issue of tender documentation, as well as managing the tender process up to the award of construction contracts. Reporting directly to the Project Director and/or Senior Management, this role involves representing the firm in all technical matters with clients, while managing internal resources, progress, and budgets to ensure the successful delivery of projects in line with client expectations. Additionally, the role may include the preparation of technical and financial proposals for prospective projects when required. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and organize internal manpower and resources across project durations. • Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan (PEP). • Issue weekly and monthly progress reports. • Ensure design and tender stage work meets contractual obligations, quality benchmarks, and cost targets. • Align project deliverables with client budget and schedule expectations. • Ensure all required regulatory approvals are obtained in a timely manner. • Coordinate effectively between all design disciplines (architectural and engineering). • Interface with joint venture partners and international consultants when applicable. • Procure and/or manage the work of specialist sub-consultants as needed. • Contribute technical and financial inputs to new project proposals. • Continuously monitor and manage hours and fees against planned allocations. • Develop a project-specific methodology, including: o Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and design schedule o Communication and team coordination plans o Milestone verification and gateway review processes o Risk register o Team directory o Incoming/outgoing RFI logs o Project close-out documentation • Manage project payments (incoming and outgoing).

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering. • Minimum 10 years of experience in the architectural design of major building projects, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity. • Strong technical knowledge in architectural and multidisciplinary design processes. • Solid understanding of cost control, value engineering, scheduling, and design delivery standards. • Familiarity with international design standards, measurement methods, and construction contracts. • Proven leadership and organizational skills, capable of managing large multi-disciplinary design teams. • Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills. • Experience in quality management and quality control processes. • Proficiency in office and design management systems and tools. • High degree of computer literacy. • PMP Certification is a plus. • Experience with National Housing Company (NHC) projects is an added advantage.
