Based at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, the Design and Production Assistant will support the Design and Production Manager in the delivery of exhibitions, installations, commissions, and spatial design projects across Art Jameel’s multidisciplinary spaces. This role requires technical proficiency in spatial design software, strong organisational capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.

The role includes responsibilities ranging from technical drawing and 3D modelling to project administration and on-site coordination. It is particularly well-suited to early-career professionals with a background in architecture, interior, or product design who are passionate about cultural production and exhibition-making.

The Design and Production Assistant will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including teams from Exhibitions, Learning, Operations, and Communications, as well as with external fabricators, artists, and contractors. Responsibilities and Duties

Technical Support

● Prepare architectural drawings, technical specifications, and layout plans using AutoCAD, Rhino, and SketchUp.

  • Essential knowledge of working within an Interior Design or Architecture practice to assist in the delivery of design reports with production of indesign documentation, with a highly skilled knowledge of indesign and efficient output management.
  • Provides research and input in the concept creation of design reports
  • Performs original graphic design concepts/diagrams in the support of report outputs
  • Provides assistance for the team and mentoring in their output of reports where work is shared across team members and projects.
  • Has an excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite, as well as indesign, photoshop and illustrator etc. Some knowledge of Animation and video creation a bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of text and font usage and ideation to produce and curate a beautiful graphic output. Excellent content creation and knowledge of curating text to suit design output.

Job Description

The Department of Integrated Design at KFUPM is seeking potential candidates holding a bachelor degree for research and teaching purposes. Applicants must be willing to study abroad in majors related to the department’s directions. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a GPA not less than 3.3 / 4 in one of the following disciplines:

  • Design / Design studies
  • Integrated Design
  • Interdisciplinary Design
  • Design ideation and practices
  • Mix-realities design and applications
  • Parametric / algorithmic design
  • Architecture
  • Computer Science / Software Engineering
  • Engineering Design or Design Engineering
  • Any Design-related or Design Science related fields

The candidate will be expected to be available for professional duties for approximately 35-40 hours per week and to carry out teaching, research, academic advising, administrative duties, and any other academic duties that will be assigned to the faculty by the academic department concerned. Also, they must adhere to any other job responsibilities imposed by the Ministry of Civil Service regulations.

Qualifications
  • An earned bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in one of the relevant fields required by the department.
  • A full-time bachelor’s degree with a minimum of a 3.3 GPA out of 4 and above with very good grades.
  • Certificate equivalency if the certificate was obtained from outside the Kingdom.
